Sharp AQUOS XLED FV1 Review - A Big Comeback Or A Big Dud?

Get the Sharp AQUOS XLED FV1: www.rtings.com/afflink/AdoAAK...
The Sharp AQUOS XLED FV1 is part of Sharp's premium AQUOS lineup. It's a very bright TV with splendid contrast, but it's marred by strange quirks and inconsistent image processing.

    I'm waiting for Sharp to bring QDEL to the market. I feel like that will be a big game changer.

    Please review the new Hisense U8N. It is interesting to see what improvements the TV has made over the previous model U8K. The U8N is said to be the brightest TV on the market and in combination with the very high contrast it comes very close to an OLED TV. The U8N could have the best price-performance ratio and could be a flagship killer 2024 compared to the expensive high-end LG and Samsung TVs.

    Since 120Hz is not too important to me, I don't mind gaming at 60Hz as long as the response time is low enough for PC gaming. High contrast is far too important to me, which is the reason if I want to go with a 55" or 65" TV, I'll go with a Samsung S95D TV. However, 42" is the maximum for me and I have my TV at close to me. I wanted an OLED TV not only for watching movies, but for enjoying deep blacks. And that's why I bought an LG 42" C2 TV last year as there isn't any difference between C2 and C3, let alone C4 TV. And I say 60Hz is fine for me as I only play single-player games. Even if my PC is configured at 120Hz and my C2 is set to PC/gaming mode, I do not know where to look for in terms of smoothness when jumping from 60Hz to 120Hz but I suppose 100% of all the non-multiplayer gamers that do not have vision loss can tell a difference between 60Hz and 120Hz. For me, I cannot and I'm fine with just HDMI 2.0. The only reason why I might see myself going for HDMI 2.1 is for 8K60Hz and that's about it. However, 4K is more than just fine for me for single-player gaming.

    Sharp returned to Europe a few years ago. Just a few weeks ago I bought their latest flagship model of the FQ series in the Czech Republic, with premium Harman/Kardon speakers and 144Hz panel and Google tv. So far maximum satisfaction in price/quality ratio.

    Ha! premium. That is just garbage, it is bulky af and it just seems halfback in the worst way. No one is going to buy this at premium prices. 500$ seem like a fair price when they sell out the last stock before Sharp goes in to hiding again for another 10 years. Why would anyone pick this over mid level cheap OLED's.

  • @cajampa

    @cajampa

    @@langstonbelin I don't need thousand of nits in a light controlled room. And the C series is mid level. B has always been entry level. The a series is a pure budget option. By mid level cheap, i mean when you buy smart at end of year prices, because only a fool with more money than sense buy a mid level TV at launch prices. Also no one is denying that if you for some reason have massive windows and live where it is very sunny. Massive light output LCD has their place. Still this BS premium half baked model with the styling of a screen from 2008 would probably satisfy no one.
