He sold out. Admitted it on his own pod (tough guy heaven episode of Matt and Shane's secret podcast) by doing Baphomet and Illuminati one eye sign. And on Joe Rogan Protect Our Parks he admitted that he is a gatekeeper and took money from an agency to shill the vax. The comedy industry has been taken over just like the music industry. Shane is basically an establishment pop star now, or at least he's being propped up for this purpose going into the future.

For sure, that's how I've been explaining it to people. I think Shane's humor works so well because it doesn't really feel like you're watching a rehearsed act. He's less of a professional comedian and more like working with the funniest dude you've ever met.

By far the best comic right now

I have never seen long stretches of his standup material. This 14 minutes holds up with most of the best stuff that is out there right now. I am not sure what he's got beyond this and a few other snippets I've seen, which are all good as well, but he is moving up the ranks. RIP to the late great Norm MacDonald (the GOAT of the recent era imho), but Dave Chapelle, Louis CK & Bill Burr are at the top of the heap for me right now. If Gillis has more that is this good, he may crack that personal list.
