Shallow Water Anchors (Installation on a Pontoon Boat)
Спорт
I fish shallow water A LOT! Often times, throwing a traditional anchor just isn't practical and most times is a lot more work than it needs to be. So, I saved up my money to purchase some shallow water anchors for my pontoon boat. Here is the installation.

Absolute love the product and the way you mouted them. But the rear ones were driving me crazy 😂. My OCD was kicking in

Mine too. I get that a lot
Much better than a heavy anchor! I like it!

A little tip for anyone doing this with a holesaw in carpet. Right before the teeth of the holesaw touches the carpet, reverse the drill and continue and it will basically melt a perfect circle in the carpet. Otherwise, the teeth may snag the carpet and unravel an unsightly mess!

Great tip!
The gentleman sure had pretty aluminum welds. I like it, Nice job!!! My front deck is extended and popular jump off spot. Thinking a counter sink on front for slick finish and bare feet friendly.

Definitely a counter sink if you have an extended deck.
I have minn kota 12ft talons on my 25ft pontoon. One on the front and one on the rear. They work awesome.

Keep an eye out for what I have coming soon it’s a diy version of that and a removable rod rack integrated together on the back of my 1962 16’ Lonestar Skipper! I started building it this past weekend! I am just going to do a walk through video on it showing it when I get it all completed. I may do a full build video later on the other boat if the channel pops of one day!

But great video Kev keep up the new and different stuff it’s kind of exciting seeing a video that is something other than fishing. Not that I don’t like the fishing videos but it’s nice to see some change sometimes.

Can't wait!
Nice install. Tie a short rope with a looped end and floatie up by the handle to help retrieve when (not if) a pole drops in the water... (Don't ask me how I know :)

Haha I can infer!! I’ll be getting some rope tied.
Great idea, have you ran your boat yet with the two mounted on the transom. Just curious to see how much splash your going to get from where the pipe is sticking down.

You might have to call for these.
Would you have to retreat the exposed wood to prevent future rotting?

Probably a good idea.
I dont see the mounts on his web site? Where am I missing them? LOL Gotta get some of these!

I think you have to call for the mounts. They’re new and he doesn’t have them on the website yet.
I like your seat and console covers. Where did you find them, if you dont mind me asking.

cool
Don't you want something so when you stab into the ground, u can lock the pole in place? Seems like it would be touch if you're on rock bottom to stay anchored. Great idea though, I'm trying to get something like this
@PalmettoCats
Жыл бұрын
Not really. You want it free to move within the bracket in case you have wake. Rock bottom it probably wouldn’t work as well. Thanks for watching.

U really should invest in dewalt or Milwaukee the battery’s last way longer than those and they have way more power than them

U should of used lock washers and regular nuts and wouldn’t have to have locknuts
