Yes! I had purchased a boat that came with one, sold as soon as i could after having a little fun with it. A couple DIY stakeout poles are just as effective and only cost as much as a case of beer. Also, they are loud enough to spook nearby fish... soo..

So expensive for what it really is. . .

Cool but I gotta ask... What happens if you do the very human thing of forgetting to up anchor and nail the throttle with it deployed?

Figure out how to open the circuit to the ignition when it's either deployed or is in a ready to use mode. That's a good point though.

So they cost as much as 30 anchors combined, and they don’t even go deeper than 12ft. Cool.

How do these work as far as a rocky bottom?

It only works on a loose bottom like sand and mud, so no you cant use it on rocks

Yeah but then you constantly have two big ass towers hanging off the back of the boat getting in the way. And my cousin has two of these on his bay boat and rough water mode doesnt do shit. Ill stick with my power poles, they arent an eye sore

Traditional anchor. These are shallow water anchors.
