Shadow Boxing Drill For Home. For the Elite Fighter. Tom Yankello's Drill #4. Tom Yankello of the World Class Boxing Channel, brings to you a new series that focuses on providing you with a boxing workout for home. Due to the times, Tom Yankello, realizes that we all must respect social distancing and so he wanted to provide athletes, coaches, workout enthusiasts, and those who are passionate for the sport of boxing a great workout that can be done by yourself in any size room. This video series is for all, from beginner to advanced. For those just starting you will learn how to shadowbox. For those that are advanced, you will learn ways to develop your creativity and imagination as you master this drill.
This advanced shadow boxing lesson, though, is for the elite fighter. It focuses on footwork. You will learn how to move your feet in boxing like the elite fighters do. This is a very detailed and technical drill that will have you mastering such advanced techniques as how to drop step in boxing, how to side step in boxing, how to shift and how to pivot. This is boxing footwork you must know to become a better fighter!
Tom Yankello first shows you the breakdown of the drill, discusses how to develop rhythm and flow in your workout, shows you the pattern, helps you with the understanding the rotation of your hips from east to west to get the most power out of your punches and ends the video with the flow of the drill.
World Class Boxing Instructional videos for punches, including footwork, are now available for purchase by visiting www.worldclassboxingchannel.com. Tom Yankello is a true boxing professor. What he teaches in these videos is guaranteed to make you the best boxer you can be as you will learn and understand the boxing fundamentals for each and every punch along with footwork. There has never been a set of boxing instructionals created to date like these. They simply are the most thorough and most educational videos ever made.

Coach... This is the lesson I've been waiting for. You have made advanced fundamental combinations not only easy to understand, but have combined the elements of footwork (and balance) which is absolutely the base of all boxing and is complimentary to and allows us to set up and land the punches. I call this total boxing, because it combines the mind and the body as one and flows seamlessly. Your explanations and demonstrations are on point and your knowledge (and enthusiasm) boundless. We look forward to your next class as willing and eager students. Thank you.

Again coach, this stuff is just great. I feel I've really been training the fundamentals while enjoying the patterns, the concept of east and west is awesome. Just using the right mechanics to load my punches feels like a built in defense and every aspect of my game seems to be developing thoroughly. I just had a small question to help my visualization process. When your "rolling the hook" is that a good defense for both the hook to the head as well as the body and if it's good for both would you say it's more ideal for blocking a body shot were it would be more ideal to weave under the hook to the head. Just wanted to clear that up, thanks.

@@WorldClassBoxingChannel Cool thanks for taking the time to get back coach, p.s. the new drill has really been a nice challenge. I've had to learn it in sections cause the sequence is quite long for me but it's coming along, thanks again

I shadow boxed this morning but i accidentally my wife crossed my way to get her phone and wow its a liver shot. Then after she gained her conciousness I plead sobbing for sorry and she hit my face with a hard overhand shot.

Gotta keep drilling this bro, next time you will weave under her right hand, shift, and then boom huge right hook to her body that should seal the deal

Should i always pivot with the right foot when i throw a right hand or just when I throw it with full power? Or is it enough for softer punches to just whip the hip

Why are the boxers hooks and upecuts, when they hit the bag or shadowbox, like they are fighting someone in their lap? Way too tight, it makes it unrealistic.

@@Nenad-ICXC-Shuput-GFAMMA my best bet is that it emphasizes no "leakage" of energy. If you see Tyson, everything is quick, short and tight. Not saying that throwing wide hooks and wide uppercuts are bad , but in the case where someone is literally a foot away from you and you're against the corner of the ropes, keeping it tight allows you to have some type of an offense. I'd do both tight and wide. It's only my opinion and my speculation though.
