Clean and distorted rhythm comparison between Seymour Duncan Custom 5 SH-14 (passive) and DiMarzio D Activator X (passive) pickups for electric guitar on the bridge position. Settings are the following:
GUITAR
Tuning: Eь / D#
Strings: D'Addario EXL140 (010-052 gauge)
AMP
Clean: EVH 5150 III profile (Kemper Profiler)
Distortion: Peavey 5150 profile (Kemper Profiler)
RECORDING TECHNIQUE:
- One centered mono track per pickup.
- Same config and EQ for both.

D activator x has to be one of the darkest sounding pickups ever. Maybe it would benefit from a 1meg potentiometer.

Right it sound like the tone know is at 11. I dont know how these test are done. But from this example ActiX is a hard pass.
