On clean, Dimebucker is having brighter tone, while Nazgul got more melancholy and glassy tone. I think that's cause Nazgul got more output from low frequency end. On distortion, Dimebucker is having clear treble, while Nazgul more fatty tone. Well adding more treble to Nazgul is not a problem, as well as "fattening" the sound of Dimebucker - difference is minor. I think both choices are great. Both have strong sides. I chose Dimebucker to have clean tones with brightness.
The Chisel has more balls but the Nuevo sure holds its own!
Both a similar but you can hear the extra bass in the Nuevo 90. I have one in the bridge of my BC Rich ST III and it rips in D standard!
Two of my most favorite pickups. SH-5 Custom has less output, clear and very tight, optimal for riffs and rhythm stuff, overall great balance. Super Distortion has more output, hense more mids, more compression and a bit woofy, but soloing cuts through like nothing else, classics.
Custom 5 cleaner. JB too compressed sounding IMO. I've tried JB in several guitars over the years and just can't dial in a sound I'm happy with. I'm a LP/ Marshall guy, but have Strat and Schecter too. Don't like it in anything. People either love or hate JB. Thanks for the demo comparison...I might go get me a Custom 5!!! More versatile
Sh 11 ✔ Brabo .
What a legendary channel. You have any battle anyone can imagine and stating the test parameters at the start makes them all so consistent. The guitar community world-wide will forever be thankful
@@mikestamper gracias Mike! Me encanta tu canal! Gracias por tus aportes!
No comparison! Not even close!! Super Distortion wins hands down!!!!!
Where the fishmans shine is articulation and lower distorted chords, faster technical passages. Once you play the. Uiu won't wanna go back.
Ewwwww DiMarzio sounds like flubby muddy asshole shit
Sounds like Dimebag took an emg bridge pickup and put it in the neck position for the new JH set
Seymour Duncan should sponsor this content creator. His content is the most helpful when it comes to comparing Seymour Duncan pickups.
I am nigga
x2n is stupidly hot. I’ll keep my 81 in advance
fred
I'm looking for a new pup to replace a JB in the bridge of an LP Custom, and I think the Evolution is the one. So much clarity.
This is a really good comparison. They are both different. If they were voices i would say that the Super Distortion is Tony Bennett, And the Duncan is Frank Santa. Tony is a little more raspy, with a great sound while Frank is a little clearer with a little more projection
Riff at 3:48?
Dude the super distortion sound way better both channels wow
Very helpful! Thank you
This was the exact demo I was looking for since I currently have the Hot 70s in my Schecter SVSS and I was looking to replace them with Blackouts
The invaders are full and direct. Black winter are just spellbounding. I don't think it's fair to compare them side by side: it must be done in a context - they will both come out on top.
I listened many review of pickups this day... but nobody adjust the eq or gain of the amp to have the best result i think.... i know thats isnt the correct way if you do that but at the end is liike compare MESA, PEAVVY, ENGL or any amp with the same configuration or not? 🤔🤔🤔
Thank you! This exact comparison was just on my mind last night and was hoping to find a video on it. I played JBs for many years but have a Tone Zone these days (new guitar came with it) and noticed they are very similar but with the Tone Zone being a bit brighter and your comparison definitely confirmed my suspicions. Thanks again!
Fishmans sounds like a cocked whah pedal. Never undertood the hype.
I just can't warm up to Fishmans. I like their Classics more than the Moderns but I am just not an Actives player. I've owned a lot of EMGs and even a DiMarzio Shockwave active preamp system in the 80s on a strat. I just prefer passives. The Custom 5 is a terrific all-around pickup, and it doesn't require a single battery.
The riffs used in dist comparison are great, congrats 👏
You should make videos of the dimarzio super 2
Good pickup for very bright guitars, or paired in the neck with a Super D, Super 3, X2N or other extreme output pups. I have one. Great clarity for leads on the neck and coil splits and does parallel very nice for cleans.
i have d activators in my 7 and 6 string rg's, sound fantastic. want to try black winter but want to know output vs d activator?
La prova di un pick up si fa con un amplificatore a valvole con i toni a metà non con simulatori digitali...per me un test così non ha alcun valore
The Ajo pickup sounds tight as all get out 👍
Definitely Fishman, especially Voice 2.
What kind of melody has been playing since 1:24? 🙏
Metallica used invaders on Master album...i found a green one gonna put it in my Ibanez
Thanks so much for this demo. Think I actually prefer the evolution. Do you think it would make a nice pairing with a super distortion in the bridge?
if you haven't already you should release tabs for all the riffs you play
Super distortion all the way up! Dimarzio rules
Never heard of Ajo pickups until now, but im kinda blown away. Very clear, hifi type tone. Reminds me of some Lace pickups. The cleans especially were tremendous. Definitely gonna be checking out some of their stuff.
the crunch lab has a really nice resonance to it
Bro…. Did you play a DIECAST riff!? 😮
Thanks very much. It's an amazing comparison. May I learn about the guitar's fretboard? Is rosewood, ebony or maple?
Rosewood!
85 was meant to be a bridge pickup, but then metal players started swapping the 81/85 sets to 81 in the bridge. 85 is dark or neck pickup, and is also nearly the hottest pickup EMG do. Edit, that being said, 85 neck sounds better with gain, 60 sounds better clean to my ears.
Both are great pickups, but the Custom 5 SH-14 is bigger sounding than the Custom SH-5. It has an overall better balance. The Custom Custom SH-11 is better if you want a loser low end with more shimmery chords and a sweeter high end. I'd recommend the SH-11 for session players because it can mix pretty well with single coils or a Jazz, 59 or A2 Pro. The SH-5 and SH-14 are better for hard rock and metal although the SH-11 can still hold its own. It gets a great VH tone. Akira from Loudness used the SH-11 for years in the interim between the Custom and Custom 5 which he now uses.
I bought an invader bridge pickup the day it came out and put it in a 80 Gibson Les Paul Custom silver burst ! Sounded freaking amazing !!!
Railhammer wins this one for me. Better, fuller cleans and a surprisingly mean sounding tone with gain
Which one should be matched in neck if I installed SD in bridge position in strat?
Which one should be perfectly match for neck if I install Super distortion in the bridge position (H-S-S configuration guitars)?
Great Nephew vs Uncle battle!
