Repurposing beautiful knits for doll clothing is something I have been doing since I started making dolls back in 2008. Over the years I have honed my technique, and I have repurposed even more complicated knitted designs, but creating a set of Christmas Pajamas is very easy, and I think your dolls would love a set.

Poet is my doll and she is my muse. After making her I decided to make modifications to her pattern, named that pattern "Petite Fig" and I have been making them a lot ever since. She is one of a kind and the "Petite Fig" is not a doll pattern I have published for you to make, but you might find the process of sewing this is the same for all sizes and styles of dolls.
This tutorial was shared originally with my Patreon members for the Dressmaking Series of 2020 and since that content will be archived, I decided to share it here with you all. I hope you enjoy it and it motivates you to rescue some textiles for your doll's clothing.

I love them! Is Poet the doll who lives in your studio to try out new patterns? What kind of fabric were you using? No one in my town seems to donate cashmere to our local goodwill. Ha! Sometimes I’m tempted to cut up my own sweaters! ;)

She lives with me because I love her and couldn't bear to part with her. Every now and then she requests a new outfit and sometimes I share those via the Dressmaking tier on Patreon. The fabric I was using I believe was a lambswool mix, it does have some cotton in it. I am incredibly fortunate to find cashmere, virgin wool, lambswool, angora and all sorts of beautiful knitted sweaters because I live in Northern Canada, so lots to choose from!

@@Figandme Well I really appreciate you sharing this one on KZread! It's been a while since I've made any dolls... I have three boys who would rather have homemade weapons! But my sister had a baby girl this past summer, so I'd REALLY like to make her a sweet little doll for Christmas this year.
