SEVEN SONGS BY LEW SOLOFF ~ The Velvet Note in Alpharetta, GA.
Музыка
Although captured in the Fall of 2013, this footage was never edited or published until now. The only song from this evening that has been released to date is Georgia on my Mind. However, for over five years, I have held onto the footage with the hopes of doing something special with it.
So now in memory of the late great Lew Soloff, on the four year anniversary of his passing, I present to you all seven more song performances from Lew's two-show performance at the Velvet Note in Alpharetta, Georgia on October 20, 2013. Joining Lew on stage are Kenny Banks Sr. on piano, Kevin Smith on bass and Che Marshall on drums. A very special thanks to Laura Soloff Solomon for her blessings and assistance in this production.
I hope you all enjoy this footage as much as I have enjoyed putting it all together. Rest in peace, Lew. A life well lived, indeed.
Thanks all,
Richard Angle

What a life, what a mensch, what a musician. Love ya, Lew.
I was in High School with Lew Soloff and Billy Goldstein, we were all in the Lakewood High School band and when Lew died in 2015 it was a very sad time. Frederick Spector
A great player and wonderful human being; miss you Lew 😢
Just Beautiful. I will have to come back and watch the whole thing. Lew never fails to amaze me. We are truly diminished with his loss.
Lew was my cousin … miss him all the time ❤️
Met Lou through his friend Rita Guzman...A wonderful gifted man who was very encouraging to all of us...
Lew for ever in my mind
I had the honor of taking some lessons from Lew in NYC in the mid 1980s. What a wonderful man, and such a great player. Love to listen to him.
his a very pure charming like a child . im respect mr soloff😢 om vazara sattova aku! from japan!
The greatest musician interview I've ever read was well over an hour of his talking about his decades of lessons with Arnold Jacobs.
What a bouquet to Lew and all his fans; this is really quite heartwarming & beautiful.

My apologies for the late response, but thank you so much for saying this. I agree. This was an amazing performance! I had the footage in the closet and felt it right to finally do something with it. It really was a beautiful night. And Lew NAILED it!

@@_TheRightAngle_ - it was Great to: 1. get your note then 2. follow it and 3. bathe in this great warm snap crackle & popping music once more on a Friday night! Unlike so much else this Never gets old!
