    Hey man. Been watching your videos for a while. Just subscribed. Love your energy. You seem like a genuinely really good guy. Your vids have helped me decide to finally purchase a RM2. I use MB Pro, iPad mini, iPhone, etc and the reality is, there is no perfect device. This one just seems to do what I need the best - cut down on the over 50 notebooks and counting, filled with notes and hard to search through - plus a waste of paper. I have two businesses, teach a graduate course and have one on one coaching clients. And I take all my notes by hand. Switching from meeting to meeting for all those different businesses creates a huge challenge for keeping note taking organized and even bigger when I need to search for particular meeting notes. This was a particularly helpful vid because I'll have my device in a few days and have been thinking about organization. I've got more to watch, such as how to replace my productivity planner with a way to do that in the RM2, and I'll keep watching. Keep up the great energy and helpful videos and I'll keep coming back. Thanks!

    Curious how you use Quick Sheets. I started using my ReMarkable 2 by doing Quick Sheets from the main page, thinking that I could easily move them into folders from there as I built content and the sheet took form. Seems that moving them into folders isn't as easy as I had hoped it would be...is it easier just to use the Quick sheet app from the folder in which you think the page will eventually belong?

    Coach, I'm a tech lover, new to the reMarkable world. I've watched many reviews and have pre-ordered the reM2. My daily routine is packed with meetings, either in person w/mask or via telcons. I've got multiple notebooks and it's almost a hopeless venture when I need to go back and find a specific something. I've watched quite a few of your videos and really appreciate this one as you're spot on that if you don't understand the what and how to get the best out of your device, the result is a negative experience, something becomes a dust collector. I'm in batch 7, October ship, look forward to hearing your thoughts when you receive. Again, thanks and keep the videos coming.

    Is there a way to sort files but in reverse order? In my case, I have many notebooks in various folders and often I want to check the few last documents in a specific folder without scrolling content to the bottom. Sometimes I need to add a new files to this folder. Sorting content of this folder by "recently used" or "last updated" isn't helpful because files which I'm talking about are rarely or no changed.

    I have not had success with it as my handwriting is really bad. I know it works for a few people, but I don't think it is a feature I would depend on. Is it possible to keep tasks in buckets and move them around and prioritize them? Like in Trello or MS Planner. I would love to do that on 'paper' and was wondering what would be the best way to do it using Remarkable. What is your recommendation?

  • @morningcoach

    @morningcoach

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hey Mika - I am sure you can get creating just remember the RM works just like paper, there is not much functionality though you can cut and paste and move things around. It is not going to give you an application feel, but more like you threw your notebook away and it is now electronic. I just make a new page daily for daily tasks, then have a notebook with projects, journal, updates etc.... all in one folder on the RM. So if you think about it is like having a bunch of notebooks in a file. It will take some getting used to, but it is a very simple device..... think electronic filing and notebook system is the best way. Thank you for the question. Please keep them coming.

    @@morningcoach Great, thanks for the answer. Would be great to see how you do it. Do you already have a video that would touch this point? I already now create daily and weekly plans, but I wonder what would be the best way of keeping a backlog of items to do? How best pick/find them from the notes to the backlog and how to maintain the backlog. Or maybe be latter is just best to outside rm e.g in Trello.

  • @morningcoach

    @morningcoach

    4 жыл бұрын

    Chris thanks for the comments - the search feature is not the best. In fact it is just like a paper notebook as far as I now no linking etc... or real search. I will let some of my RM experts comment on this as I am not an expert on drawing or search. I know drawing works really great, I just don't The best way to think about this device is it is just a digital paper notebook, I think when you try to go beyond that is where the expectations fail. It is just file for thousands of paper notebooks. I am sure updates will come, but I am not sure if the company wants to go past that if that makes sense. It has one function really - eliminate what you would do on paper. I know it could so much more but when I try and do something "more" then that it doesn't work well - like the handwriting to text feature, doesn't work for me. Thanks again!

While waiting for at least 6 more weeks for my Remarkable 2 to arrive, I am watching every video about it :) I can't wait for the first unboxings and real reviews to become available soon. I have a question. Do you know if it is possible to remove or change the template of an existing document? For example when drawing with a certain grid background, it would be nice to be able to remove that grid from the background when the drawing is finished. I will be using the Remarkable mostly for note taking, but I was just wondering about this because I would also like to learn how to draw on it.

  • @morningcoach

    That is a great question and I don't think you can at this point. When you build your notebook you pick the design of the template and then you are stuck with it. I would like to be able to do that, and also have various types of templates in the same notebook. NOW I MAY be wrong. We have a lot of RM people here so someone may be able to to correct me but as of know with the current software I am not seeing how to do that. But really great idea!!

    Do you know of a way to sync all your remarkable notes real-time with Google Drive or other cloud service? I know Remarkable doesn’t support it but I’m wondering if a 3rd party option exists? Love the videos!

    At this point Nate I don't think so, I am doing it manually right now. But as the reMarkable 2 sells, maybe someone will jump in, it is a Linux device. I just don't know of anything yet. Thanks so much for the comment.

    I think because its linux you can set up SSH and have constant syncing with your home server. If you can't set it up on your own, you could reach out to google for when they plan on setting up an app on a competitors product. Same goes for any other 3rd party. It's an open system, its strength is unlocked if you know how to use it.

    You often interchange the term files and folders which was confusing at first. I suggest only using the term folders .

    Weird I though I replayed Keith sorry - einkpads.com has a lot, you can also google and there are a few floating in other places. One other thing you can build a PDF yourself and use it as one :) Some good options out there, not a ton, but you can make it happen.

    @@morningcoach So I could just create the form in Word and print it to a PDF? That would work for an outline for note taking?

  • @morningcoach

    @morningcoach

    YES that would work for sure - you would just mark it up like a normal PDF! - The only issue is if you wanted multiple pages you would have to keep making PDF if that makes sense - where a TRUE template you could just add a page daily as a PDF would only be 1 page.

    Tanya - I have been using the reMarkable 1 for over a year and no issues - the notes take very minimal space. I use it specifically for a not-taker so would say it is trash. It serves a purpose it is note book replacement not a tablet. I think that is where people get confused. If you need storage and need to use it for media etc... go with the iPad. If you only want a paper replacement it rocks. Thanks so much for the comment!! :)

    I’d love to hear about the google chrome browsing experience on the rM2! I’d LOVE to know how it works and if it just converts all webpages to readable PDFs? Or would I be able to check my email or do simple research? Whenever you get your rM2, I’d super appreciate hearing your findings!

    reMarkable does NOT do a good job in helping me set up mine. I have 6 blank pages saved that I cannot delete. I know what a folder is and I know how to organize I just have no idea how this works, you cannot delete stupid empty folders.

    arthurw13 why the software is the same it is only a hardware change, you still have to get your files organized and everything ready. Why wouldn’t you want to know how it works? I have been using the RM1 now for almost 2 years so helping people understand the device OS
