The reMarkable will always be very niche. But I happen to be in their small target group and therefor I absolutly LOVE this thing exactly for what it can NOT do 🙂 No apps, no store, no internet, no notifications, no browser, no nothing! No other digital paper lets me put my mind to rest and gives me that laser focus, that I need to really be productive and creative! This was and still is a total game changer for me! And when I pick up my work on my desktop: Everything is just there. Right where I need it. Ok I will now stop raving! Thanks for the video coach! Greetings from Germany! 🙂

Hahaha same. Us type A personality people love to have something quick, responsive, and that keeps our mind aligned because we can't seem to do that ourselves. That's why we prefer a reMarkable for all of those things that it can't do. 😂

I love my reMarkable! I got it last semester to replace my notebooks in college and it’s an amazing replacement! I didn’t need all the extra functions and I still don’t, that’s what my laptop if for.

I love my RM2!! it has been with me for one year+ and I am using it everyday in my work. Love it is pure a note taking device which I will have ZERO distraction while I am thinking & writing on RM2!! (ZERO distraction is super important) Quite happy to see the Company keep on updating the OS frequently which bring in new features. Love the "tag", "color pen function", the recent updates also makes the sync-ing between the PC app / IOS app & the RM2 much quicker. Looking forward for the management team to bring me with more updates. I do wish RM2 can let me edit the PDF directly from Google Drive, instead of copying to "My File" before I can update them and re-upload it back to GoogleDrive as a "new file".... this is quite stupid in certain extent.

Even Tiago Forte says that the one thing that is more valuable than your time is your attention. That's the key feature for which I picked the rM2 among all devices, and because I love minimalism (the thinnest tablet in the world).

I have my reMarkable 2 for a little over 2 years now. I also have a Boox Max Lumi for a similar length. ReMarkable 2 is my main note taking device. It does note taking well. The Boox Max Lumi become a little slow with note taking today after a few firmware updates. The Max Lumi is also a lot more expensive, with many tablet features and apps. However, for note taking, any slowness or stutter just kills the experience. That's where reMarkable is does well, even with more software updates and new features. I wish reMarkable will update the hardware, so more software features can be added without impacting speeds. I feel it reaches the maximum capacity of what features it can support. Especially with the new keyboard, it could add more software features to enhance the typing experience. To support just a fraction of a traditional word processor software can do (MS Word), it needs more hardware power. I completely agree that the design of reMarkable 2 is still one of the best. So keep it the same exact form is fine. I would say at most change some color.

Just ordered specifically because I CAN’T check email or run apps. No front light also means the e-ink surface is closer to the top like paper. Already have a kindle for reading and iPhone for everything else. - this is for writing

Was ReMarkable your first Eink device JB? Or had you already been into Kobo or other Eink eReaders back in the day? I bought the ReMarkable 1 when it first came out, then soon after sold it to get the ReMarkable 2 and have since fallen in love with Eink and regularly use a Boox Leaf and Nova 3 Color alongside the ReMarkable 2. These devices have been massive in helping me complete my degree. I highly recommend them!

I owned a Remarkable for a couple of weeks before sending it back. As a note taking device, it is superb - so well built and the writing feel is great. But, for me, I just found that I don't take enough notes throughout the day to justify carrying another device in my bag. I decided that the a notes app on my 10" iPad give me what I need. I might eventually jump back in with a smaller, less expensive e-ink device. Or I might just stay with the iPad.

Love this comment because now the RM2 is $300 and you can use third party pens for about $50. So at $350, it has become one of the cheapest of the bunch.

Question for posters! I have bad arthritis in my hands and writing pen to paper has become painful, unfortunately. I tend to be a tight pen gripper. I have to take lots of notes at work and typing during meetings while people are talking is distracting. Is the remarkable pen to tablet touch light or do you need to press with the same pressure that you do with normal pen/paper?

I have been looking for a good e ink tablet that I can use for homeschooling my kids. What I am looking for is something I can upload PDF books on and have the ability for the kids to write on the PDFs. Also with the ability to send individual pages from the PDF book to me. So it needs to be kid friendly, inexpensive and can do these things pretty easily. What e ink tablet would you recommend.

The Remarkable 2. An amazing device that in some cases is best in class but yet somehow falls short in the whole. I have an Rm2 on the corner of my desk and I rarely find myself grabbing it. Yet it's the thinnest eink tablet out there, has a great cover, the UI is pretty good, the battery life is fantastic. So much good to say about this device. I just don't use it. But I do use my Supernote every day.

  • @jeffreymoss

@@morningcoach For me, the 'killer feature' of the Supernote is the star marking system. That allows me to take notes at work and label to-dos which I can search for later, providing me with a to-do list across notebooks. I can't function without this feature. Boox has fairly good handwriting recognition, so when I used one of those devices I used to mark my to-dos with XX and then search on that. That worked fairly well, but missed to-dos every once in a while. And Remarkable has nothing at all (well, tags, but that's not nearly as elegant a solution as the Supernote). So that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Has anyone else had an issue with pen calibration? I’m having a heck of a time :-( At any given spot on the screen, the pen writes about 1mm - 2mm away from where the nib is touching. I’ve asked reMarkable customer support for help. They sent me a new marker. That wasn’t the issue. (I knew it wasn’t, but I had to give it a chance before returning the device). Thanks, everyone!

RM2 fragile? All devices of the same kind are fragile without protective cover, so thats not a specific topic or problem of RM2. I‘m using daily the RM pen for 10 weeks without the need to change the nib, sure not hard pressing them, which is not needed.
