my new boat with 2-12 live has one at the console with a compass ring around the boat on the chart screen. I cannot find how to remove the ring compass around this boat icon?

Hay that's a good thing to have ! As you roll up on a way point you will know how far to cast to it . I use mine all the time , on both units . Why ? On my 2- live 9 units it tells me when the way point is directly to the side so I can side scan it . Off shore it helps to pinpoint the spot that's full of fish .
