    9 Foot ceilings. The projector is pretty much down the line about 3 feet behind the hitting mat, but it never comes into play with the swing

    Do you have to have a gaming PC to download and use the software? (for the courses etc) or can you use a macbook pro and hook it up wirelessly or through the HDMI? How much was the entire set up in full? It looks like starting prices are $6-8k but can quickly add up with all the extras

    So the set up originally came from Foresight sports as a complete package with the GCQuad. I had to sell the quad, but kept the sim set up. To run the simulator software effectively, you do have to have a pretty powerful computer. It doesn't specifically have to be a "Gaming PC", but it has to have a graphics card that can support it. My set up is probably in the $10k range, but it can definitely be done well for less money. Id check out "rain or shine" golf. They have some good packages that include everything you'd need. There are some other sites out there too, but i think you're pretty bang on that if you want something turn key, $6-8k is a modest range

    Can i know what gaming PC you guys using ? I connected my iPad to projector and the quality wasn’t that clear , but my iPad shows very clear image :( I’m wondering that the cause from PC or Projector ?

    We have a custom built PC. I dont think the quality issue is because of the ipad though. I have used airplay from an ipad to an AppleTV over the projector and the video quality was fine.

    You mentioned the skytrac has to be connected to the ipad thru direct wifi - then you had to connect it again to your home wifi? I'm placing my skytrac where my home wifi doesnt reach - can I still use the skytrac with my ipad?

  • @clearshotgolf1098

    @clearshotgolf1098

    Hey! Yeah, you can use it strictly direct. I was just setting it up that way because i wanted the iPad to be connected to home WiFi. But if you can’t reach home WiFi, you can definitely just connect the iPad directly to the network that the skytrak generates

    Yeah, I had to quit the app and reopen it a couple times and power cycle the skytrak a couple times before it finally picked up. It just seemed like it was that initial time though

    How would you rate quality and accuracy of the data compared to the GC Quad? I’m assuming that’s what you had previously. Rapsodo claims they are within 1% of Trackman with their data but the number of times it doesn’t track my shots is extremely annoying. I’ve had two and hated it.

  • @clearshotgolf1098

    @clearshotgolf1098

    @young money investments Well, it’s definitely not a GC Quad. It doesn’t feel cheap by any means, but the build quality of the quad is a lot more stout. I’ve found that carry distance and spin are very close, which is what matters most to me anyway. I rarely get a shot where I question the numbers. The skytrak doesn’t read club data, it just estimates it based on the ball flight. I’ve had more no reads with the skytrak than i did with the quad, but i feel like most of that was set up related. Out of all the units I’ve used in this price range, my opinion is that the skytrak is the best bang for the buck. If you don’t mind spending 6k on a GC2 or 11k on a quad without club data, then they are both better and more accurate. But for a 2k unit, I’m happy with this. I hope that helps!

    @@clearshotgolf1098 Really appreciate the information. I have a 190+ mph ball speed. Will this unit pickup data at that speed? I've heard other inexpensive units just won't measure properly. I don't want to drop 14k on a GC Quad but I also don't want to go down this rabbit hole for something I'll regret buying and end up spending the 14k on a quad.

    @@YoungMoneyInvestments gee thats fast. Okay, i'm not 100% sure, cause my ball speed on a good day is 150, so I don't want to give you false info. Honestly, i don't think i know anybody that hits it that hard for me to test out. BUT, if i were to be on the safe side, I would probably opt for a GC2 or GCQ because they capture data at a much higher frame rate than the skytrak

    @@YoungMoneyInvestments I can't remember where I saw it; however, one review I watched did comment on "elite" swing and ball speeds gave SkyTrak some problems on accuracy. The person doing the review was a left handed golfer that I've seen before - he has the 300+ range on the driver. His results suggested that his irons were spot on, but driver data wasn't as good.

    How big of a delay is there from when the ball hits the screen to when the projector shows the ball in motion? I noticed every time you hit, you cut to the motion of the ball.

    I would say about 2 to three seconds consistently. Its enough where it would take up unwanted space in the video, but not enough to drive you crazy when you're using it. I do wish it was more of an immediate response time though.
