This is such an inspiring song, I have worried far too much my whole life that I have rarely sat back and asked myself why do I worry? I learned I needed to step back and let life happen, which is hard for someone like me who plans 5 or more years ahead. I heard this song for the first time while working with a friend and I have to say no matter how many miserable things have happened to me I play this song to remind me not to ponder over them and try to live worry free.

Ya know, I'm in a masonic youth group. We wear robes, have a ritual, & bi-monthly meetings (but we meet to plan stuff to do for charities & community service). Plus I listen to this music. People think I'm in a cult. Also, I started a cult in kindergarten. Even though I left the school in 1st grade, it still exists. I saw some kids sacrificing food to the 'rainbow god Bow' (my creation) in a bonfire last year. So I guess they're not wrong.

@@jessikadelain2309 I was in kindergarten and I made the entire playground believe in the Rainbow God, Bow & chant "Purple is Piety, Blue is for ____," And so on until we reached "Red is for ____." Then we would take food (stolen from the cafeteria), mash it up with rocks, and throw it in the air so it dropped into a creek or puddles as a sacrifice. Even though I left the school, kids in my neighborhood still mash up + throw food, and bugs (and on one terrifying occasion burnt rats) into the air after chanting the colors of the rainbow. It's great. My teachers from that school have truly been punished (which was my goal).

Haha! Well, this was a few years ago. They were opening for bvb at some small venue in Kentucky. But apparently, Kentucky has a curfew, so when the show was over, the venue owners kicked everyone out. Cody wasn't ready to call it a night, so a group of us hung out in the parking lot for a while. He saw that I had bought their CD, so he sang for me. It was fun!

Can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that Cody looks good in any outfit, even if he's rapping against his evil twin.

At the start he's all worried, then he just owns the song

My interpretation: the people in white are of the "why worry?" mindset, whereas the people in black are still stuck in a cycle of worry. The ones in white follow the Cody in the white suit, who promotes a stress free lifestyle. The Cody in black promotes worry and anxiety among his followers who wear black. The rap battle is signifying the stress free side winning over the anxious/worrisome side. Then at the end both sides are dancing and having fun together, signifying that the followers of anxious Cody are starting to believe in a more stress free lifestyle and letting themselves have more fun, but not completely, hence why they're still wearing the black, because it takes a lot of work to overcome anxiety, and one rap battle between you and your anxious side can't fix everything.

While that makes a lot of sense, when you listen to the black group's lines it sounds less like "live life anxiously" and more like preaching an aggressive version of the white group's message. To me it's more like the black's are saying "life is stressful, deal with it" and the white's are asking "im anxious, but why? life isn't that bad"

When I first heard this song, it immediately took me to church and it has been my morning song ever since. Seeing this video for the first time just confirmed that I need to hear this every single day. I just saw you guys perform recently and it was the most amazing performance! When Cody CROWD WALKED... I just knew I was in the presence of something magical! Thank you for your talent and love guys!!! 💫

Compare this song to several others by set it off, such as: wolf in sheep's clothing, killer in the mirror, i'll sleep when i'm dead, ect. Seems pretty cheerful in comparison. Is this really the same band?

Punkish bands have a very unique way of telling you to stand up. Some songs are like Why Worry, and some tell you to just punch the fuckups in the face and get your shit together. Just because this one is blatantly positive, doesn't mean the others aren't either - they're just a bit more punchy in their meaning. Wolf in Sheep's Clothing is about crimes being met proper justice: "Mark my words, one day you will pay, karma's gonna come collect your debt." Killer in the Mirror is about standing up even when you're alone: "Feel the fear, snd swallow back the tears, let weakness disappear" I'll Sleep When I'm Dead is, yeah, pretty much 100% a vent song there. Partners in Crime are somewhat of a love story actually, even if very Bonnie'n'Clyde one; Hypnotized is about getting away from a negative influence; from a manipulative love is I'd Rather Drown. Horrible Kids shows why you shouldn't bully others; Freak Show about enduring pain and gaining a resistance to it; Dream Catcher about believing you can and will reach your dream. Sure, not all of Set It Off songs are wholesome. Some of them are venty, to attract the attention of those poor, broken souls that need to listen to them the most. But most of the songs carry a certain kind of energy, that tells you to get up, to grit your teeth, and to carry on forward. Not all hope is lost yet, you just need a bit of a push. And if you have that push... well... why worry?

Yes, they do make some pretty cheerful songs. Listen to Upside Down by Set it Off. I, personally, prefer some of their other more punk and rock songs but it's nice to take a break and listen to their softer, more upbeat songs. 😊
