I first watched this MV in 2004, it became one of my instant favourites. 20 years later, I'm 29 now, and in retrospect, a lot of the concepts in the music video are kinda of cringey now ("skip school", "hang out with the bois", etc)... but in a sorta GOOD way, you know? They remind me of more innocent years, when we were young and impressionable toward the more optimistic and fun side of life. Things are tough now, they're not so simple anymore, and I'm extremely difficult to influence and have grown skeptical when things seem too good to be true, but sometimes I go back to these classic songs, like a time machine to when I often think "Everything will be alright."

You might have different opinion no who's the biggest of her time or who's the most iconic of her time. But what no one can copy was her relatability to her age group INTERNATIONALLY. You can say she was 'cast aside' or 'outcast' of her era and ridicule her for her being the less popular 'princess' of that era, but she still reached her hand further away from her root and gathered so many people internationally who knew her by name and loved her for her talent and her ability to pull them together. She was everyone's crush back then not because she's drop-dead gorgeous princess who can't be attained, she was everyone's crush just because she was so down-to-earth and she catered to that rebel spirits every youth had. To me, she will always be the top 'music princess'.

I'm so glad to see that people didn't forget this masterpiece🫀 Love you Avril🤍

Finch Same, heard it played on 103.5 QMFM and Z95.3 these days here in Vancouver. I was riding my bike to Cultus Lake on a nice beautiful sunny day in Chilliwack back on Saturday with my portable radio turned on and me wearing sunglasses and QMFM played Complicated at the right time. I turned up the volume and blasted the music out loud. And a driver smiled and nodded to me and I smiled and nodded back. It really was the perfect mix, beautiful hot sunny day, going to the beach and listening to Complicated😎
