Servicing Drag Washers

Спорт

Probably one of the most important component to your reel is your drag, servicing your drag washers on a regular basis is highly recommended to ensure that next big fish doesn't get away.

Great Vid Rudolph! Never thought to use benzine, always used petrol which left a nasty residue.

Thanks Rudolph! Is important to do so! I add one extra thin washer I make from hard rubber or leather, on top of the metal washer, for some extra drag! Have to be careful so as not to take up too much thread space on the drag nut's thread! I have been successfully adding my drag washers to my old centre pin reels, including my Alvey reels! 🙂 🎣🐟🐠🐟🎣 🙂

If I see corrosion on the framework of the rod rings/line guides, I put some rod varnish or other outside (clear) varnish on there, after carefully cleaning them! 🙂 🎣🐟🐠🐟🎣 🙂

Preggie Chetty Thank you so much for the wonderful videos and info, it really is very helpful in making us better anglers. Could you please give us the month/time of year and location at the beginning of the video so that we know what fish to target at different times of the year. Thanks again

Hi. It is Penn grease. The blue one. Your local tackle store will know it. They can order it from Iron River South Africa
