Lost all respect for Serena after the US Open final debacle with Naomi Osaka where she lost but didn't fail to make it all about herself in the process, ruining Osaka's maiden Open victory. Williams is too self-absorbed to apologise. She is a low, posturing person, unimportant and shallow - what is known in the north of England as ''a nowt''.

Worse, she choked badly the last 6 years trying to equal and then beat Court's record. A true great, not least the GOAT, would not crumble, go nuts as she did (very abusive) and lose decent leads in finals due to being unable to deal with the pressure. Williams was a power player who for almost two decades played against women unable to hit the lines accurately enough to move her around - that was ALL it needed to beat her. Finally a few did get those skills and coupled with Williams getting even heavier and slower, she knows she has no chance unless, as she tried, she pretends to retire so the crowd gets more loud, partisan and obnoxious towards her opponents. She is neither the best ever nor a good role model in any way, shape or form.

Steffi Graf retired after wining the French and making the Finals at Wimbledon, all at barely age 30 and she had 22 GS singles titles. Serena played ten years longer. I would put Graf ahead of Williams. I would also put Martina. In terms of likability, Serena loses every time. It's hard to like her. It's hard to root for her. She is the only American I ever rooted against in the Olympics.

Serena Williams is behind Margaret Court in terms of Singles Grand Slam titles. She's far behind Navratilova in terms of total Grand Slam titles (39 in total, compared to Navratilova's 59). She is way behind Graf in terms of total number of weeks spent at Number 1 (Graf was in top spot for 377 weeks, while Serena was in top position for 319 weeks). She is only 5th overall in terms of total number of titles, Grand Slam and others. Graf managed to win each Grand Slam at least 4 times - Serena did not manage that. Graf managed a Calendar Grand Slam, as well as the Golden Slam (in 1988). Serena didn't manage either. So remind me why she is considered the GOAT, because I don't see it.

The academy where he was training notified his parents stating that if his attitude didn't improve, he will no longer be allowed to train there. You can imagine the "Talk" his parents had with him. It's a case of sour grapes by Serena. Margaret is the greatest female tennis player of all time. You can't rewrite the record books. The media tries to chop her down incessantly, but Margaret is entitled to have her own opinions like anyone else on this planet. It's called freedom of thought and speech. Court played in the Pre Open Era in a time without multiple Coaches, Sports Psychologists, Nutritionists, Physios etc. You did it all yourself and there was virtually no prize money. Margaret won titles in her career whilst having three children as well. She won 64 Grand Slam events (24 singles, 19 doubles, 21 mixed doubles), which is the record for any male or female player. Court retired in 1977 to have her fourth child. Don't try to talk nonsense or rewrite history about the Greatest Tennis Player EVER.

I love Margaret Court and Yvonne G both far better tennis players than Serena Williams.

Steffi Graf is the goat. retired at 32, had she played a couple more years who knows. Like Margaret Court she has a benevolent heart.

I still remember one Serena's game, she refused to begin playing because was waiting for her " coffee". What was in the coffee I wonder? Why waiting for " special coffee" , and made people waiting, the media waiting, etc.? Very suspicious. No I don't have any respect for Serena. What? She's a millionaire.. I don't care, she doesn't pay my mortgage. Just saying, she had suspicious beverage delivered to her during games.

I grew up in the 60’s and I loved watching Margaret Court play, she was the one most professionals respected and aspired to beat . She had great “friendly” rivalries with Billie Jean King and others but I recall the sportsmanship more than anything. Following on the Martina and Chris Evert era and never forgetting Yvonne Goolagong and then Steffi Graff . All were terrific in their own way . There was more finesse in the play back in the day , not the power game it is today . Serena and Venus have changed the game and deserve their place in the history books for sure . Margaret Court has won 24 Grand Slam titles ! End of story , you can’t revise history !

Williams should have retired when she lost to Halep at Wimbledon a few years back, instead she suffered continual defeats in her quest to catch Court's record, which still stands supreme. The gays hate Margaret for her personal but honest opinions, and we live in an age where free speech is being shut down. But a lot of us believe in Court's values too, and she rightly sits at the top of Olympus, both for her tennis and courage in expressing her views.

When will men in women's tennis be called out. Go Margaret - a true female tennis player.

I loved watching Margaret Court play as a teenager. Absolutely amazing and at a time when tennis rackets were not high tech. As she says, she is a minister and ministers to everyone. Her treatment has been disappointing to say the least. Serena seems to have been excused for the worst behaviour I've ever seen on a tennis court, namely her shocking and unsportsmanlike comments over losing the US Open to the very young Naomi Osaka. I often wonder if Naomi ever recovered properly or feels comfortable playing the US Open, where 'American exceptionalism' trumps all.

Serena is obviously one of the best female tennis players of all time. However since she is one of the first black women to excel in tennis the media is going to make her seem like the greatest player ever and I think that she has started believing their bullcrap. It's sad that Serena's ego won't let her give credit to Martina. Never ceases to amaze me at what some of these black athletes will whine about. She's extremely rich and the media just worships her and she still has the nerve to complain?!

Tennis players used to have class. It wasn't about image and narcissism. I still remembers the ball kids having to pick up the sister's beads. This record can stay.

That last word "class", something that Serena has none. Serena is only the GOAT for the worst behaviour towards officials and dis respectfulness to fellow players and the tantrums of a 2 year old.

I just watched the Williams tennis movie recently. I thought it was good. However, I doubt the dad would agree with Serena's lack of being humble.

Margaret played with a wooden racquet and dignity and got paid a miniscule amount in comparison to today's overpaid tennis yobs with their aluminium pancake racquets, tattoos, weird attire and grunting.

Williams behavior is a good example for how not to behave on the court. Women’s Tennis is one of the few if not the last professional sport that has a certain decorum about it. But Williams dragged it down to the level of urban street brawl.

Here's a question for all those fans of williams, and the bit about her winning 23 titles in the open era, while Margaret Court only won 11. The question is, can anybody name a tournament, and its winner, in women's professional tennis (like the men had their separate tours, amateur and professional)? I am talking about before the open era, before everybody was allowed to play together, namely professionals joining the ranks of the amateurs. It is said the billie-jean king was the first female professional tennis player, and that came about in 1970, two years after the open era began. These fans of williams also bring up the fact the Americans didn't want to travel to Australia due to the distance, time involved, blah blah blah, yet Margaret Court played in the US, England, and France, beginning probably in 1961 (she won 5 US Opens in a row, 61-65, and her first victories at Wimbledon were in 63 and Roland Garros in 62). The distance and time involved blah blah blah, didn't seem to bother the greatest ever female tennis player, so if the likes of bjk and others of that era didn't want to travel to Australia due to their pathetic internal fortitude, that was their call. king did of course go to Australia in the 60s, I believe she won the Australian Open in 1968, and if memory serves, I was watching in black and white and Mrs Court double faulted to lose the match (I could be wrong on that though). There seems to be no difference in women's tennis prior to and after the open era, as there was no professional tour as such. It just seems that williams is a big sook that she could not beat Mrs Court's record, and her fans are helping fuel her delusion that she is the greatest. 'But I've already beaten the record', williams has stated. Delusional much. But, If there was an actual women's professional tour, prior to 1968, please let me know. I looked for it but could find nothing. I am always ready to be corrected.

I'm too young to remember Margaret Court I do remember Martina Navratilova in her prime she would have killed Serena Williams just like she did everyone else. she didn't rely on pure power she knew the game she would have found Serena's weakness and destroyed her. her biggest weakness being her arrogance. she will ever be remembered as saying I have to retire because I want to have babies and it's not fair that women have babies. never could stand her dont care how many Grand slams she won 🙄
