Handy being able to dump the cassette straight into it. Sodium percarbonate is the best treatment to use, it's cheap, very effective and septic tank friendly
Hello beautiful family 🤗your Homestead is coming along nicely 🤗💕what a mammoth task having a septic tank installed😮love Hayden’s concept for his business 😎thanks for sharing 😊take care x
Hayden's Professional Expertise and Beyond Fabulous Skills know no Bounds, ALL KUDOS HAYDEN 🔥 And you're looking happy and rested Karen. Have a blessed week with Peace and Blessings to you Both 🌞
That is mostly the same as our system here in Qld. We have at least a 30m pipe run or more from the house to the system. Touch wood no issues in 15 years. We have had solids pumped out twice, anywhere from 5-7 years (initially with 3 of us teen/adults living here but just 2 of us the latter 5 years) and a Council required quick system check by contractors that everything is OK (clarity, PH, disposal area working OK) every 3-4 months.
Nice work. Love the grass jig saw puzzle.
Great to get the septic tank installed and keep things moving along while Hayden is busy over summer.
That’s new system in Ireland too I think. Very few new builds are allowed gravity septic tanks. All progress on your build.
Hi Karen, i did wonder about the two tanks, but you explained it for us.
We got the same system here in Glenavy and it works perfect no smell at all we get is serviced ones a year

Good to know!!
My septic tank is about 12ft (3.7m) between the house and the inlet to the septic. Even with this short run I have still experienced blockages in the line. Paper, solids, grease can settle in the line. One of my blockages was in a bitterly cold day in January. Our winter in eastern PA, USA. That was not a fun time clearing the blockage. I was lucky, it was close to the inlet of the tank. Still not fun in the many degs below freezing temperatures with the wind howling. Your run is REALLY, REALLY long. You may need to flush with water now and again to try to prevent blockages. Solids, especially paper and settle out in the line. Todays toilets are much lower water volume, which is good for water consumption. Not so good to try to prevent solids from settling out and building up in the line. I hope Hayden can get the roof on soon. Good to have painted the plywood. Dave.

@@TravellingK Funny, just prior to this video, I saw an ad for a new CLR Product for pouring down your drains if you have a septic tank.
I agree, never saw a system installed that way? It's good to see you are getting things done, remembering it's not a race. Hopefully with summer approaching your plantw will recover and new plantings get settled before winter.
I haven’t seen a septic system designed like that before. Wouldn’t mind seeing a video showing the pros and cons of that kind of design. (Crappy subject I know).
Big gap in the middle of video - what happened? Good to see your progress.

I ended the video... then forgot to delete the unused footage🤣
That's a significant impermeable clay layer you've got there. Did that have much effect on the percolation rate, and size of your leach-field? Seeing the standing water above the clay layer might explain the need for the additional clarifier tank. You may wish you had gone with the gravity system, if you have any prolonged power outage.

It's not clay, it's pumas! Then I think ash? We weren't given the gravity option🤷♀️
good vid on channel thanks lee
Hey Karen, I would've thought you'd try and use they grey water to water the trees and shrubs. Thanks for the vid. Seeya Rob...............I like your new toys Hayden............sorry, CAR and TRUCK !!!

I was interested until I learnt the cost🤣
Your septic tank installation looks like a over kill situation, must follow local codes. Having installed a septic tank (plastic) to our house no particular problems’ no smells etc, however you must use the chemical product from time to time to aid the process.
We are also installing a septic and council dictated the type of septic based on soil tests and land capability assessments, we had no option of gravity feed. I’m now worried about all that dirt coming out of the ground 😮

Oh my goodness, you've had a lot of rain over there . Yes, big project and expense putting in the septic tanks times distance, My god😳 .
Hiya Kay we have a very similar set up for our septic here in Ireland ours has 2 pumps one to pull the water into it the over runs a turning machine in the tank they cannot be turned off and cost a fortune on our electricity bill hopefully as yours is newer and will be cheaper 🤞 Absolutely love seeing your progress stay safe x

All septic systems I know are gravity based, no power, so this is new. Maybe a NZ thing?
No singing 🎶 or whistling while you work K? 😉

Some error in the edit? Video “ends” at 9:35 with the usual Patreon list then continues a couple of minutes later with what’s mostly one very long shot of you planting (spare footage, left at the end?)

Ours cost $16,000 NZ dollars!
Get a Solar or battery backup so you can FLUSH your toilets during a power failure.
