EASIEST Way To Clear A Sewer Blockage -- This Should Be In Your Toolbox

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I want to show you the easiest way to clear a sewer blockage that I've ever come across. Owning multiple income properties, I have come across my fair share of sewer backups and blockages. Oddly enough, a friendly Roto-Rooter employee showed me the bladder method for clearing blockages. I'm here to say that I've cleared 30-40 blockages using a bladder. This has saved me thousands of dollars over time and should be in your toolbox. It's fast, easy and cheap to use, and will work over and over again.

Praise Jesus. It worked 💪. I bought a drain bladder from a local hardware store. Returned home to insert the bladder into sewer pipe. It worked. The most difficult part was ensuring the bladder is routed toward the sewer instead of back into the house

I'm on a septic system and started hearing a gurgle from the kitchen sink drain. pulled the service cap off the septic tank and found it was ready to be emptied. Figured that must be causing the problem. Had that done and the next thing we knew the toilets were backing up. Did a little research and found there is a blockage in the pipe to the tank. Tried putting a small nozzle down the cleanout pipe outside but nasty things were coming back up. My suspicion was right, had a block at the tank. Called a plumbing service and they wanted 425.00 + to come out. And that would be in 2-3 days. Thank God for this video! Went to the big box store and picked up a bladder, came home, stuck it in the pipe as directed in this video and in 5 min all was golden! Try it! You'll like it! My wife and I sure did! We love saving money! Thank you soooo much for this video!

As a plumber that has and still uses these from time to time for minor blockages mainly cleaning residual debris after the line is cleared with a cable. If you put this in a pipe in your home or any building if it doesn't clear all the water will backfeed from that open pipe and come out all over your floor.

As someone who spent 2 years as a service plumber and is actively working at a hydro jetting company these tools, while effective, are incredibly situational and usually are only effective if they are used at a access location where there is no other tie ins or vents between the insertion and blockage if there are other tie ins or vents there is a very real risk of flooding via the tie in or vent

Of recently borescope digital cameras have come down in price. We are talking less than $100. They often had a reach of about 16 feet and some connect to a Smartphone or to a dedicated 5 inch display. It will allow you confirm a blockage is gone or some other problem like a cracked pipe which allows roots and other things inside the line. But the expansion bladder does pay for itself in one unclogging. Use it FIRST before sending a camera down the drain and don't use an old bladder because rubber dry rots even after a few years .

They work great, they even work in RV's. I suggest a 4-6' hose with a cut-off valve to put on the end of the main hose and use only it for sewers, that way you don't get your big expensive hose in the shit and you can work this with one person because you don't want it popping out when you turn the hose on which can happen if you don't do it properly.

Love all the plumbers in here telling everyone it won't work just spend the $$$ for them to come out, lol. Similar to mechanics mechanics that want you to think you can't do any work on your car without them or hair dressers that tell you cant possibly color you hair at home properly. This is worth a try I just wouldn't turn on the water full blast to start.

You had a friendly Roto-Rooter person. I called Roto-Rooter the first time the mainline clogged and had the absolute worst-case scenario. The worker pretended to attempt to clear the block and then pretended to try again. Then started talking about the pipe needing replacing. Luckily, I am not mechanical, so I contacted my brother and father to ask their opinion and when the man heard that conversation, he left, charging me nothing. I called a local sewer company and when they came, they proved to me that the Roto-Rooter person hadn't even taken the cap off of the pipe. He had done nothing at all. They cleaned it out and told me that my pipe isn't broken and they said that there is a very widespread scam of pretending that pipes are cracked and then they crack them when they dig it up. My friend probably had that happen very close to the same time. Anyway, I found a sewer company that doesn't scam like that, but I still want to clear it once a year because there is nothing worse than having to clean the basement every few years when there is sewage everywhere.

root rooter are independent contractors. They size you up to see how much money they can get out of you. Really and truly some plumbing companies have a set price list for when they help you. Roto router does not. They took my mom for thousands on something. Years ago. And then I switched to a really good Plumber .. but this is great

This is a common rotor-rooter practice, they don't want to clear the clog they want to scam you, and make you pay thousands of dollars to put a pipe inside your mainline because they made thousands in commission. It almost happened to me, and I caught them trying to run the same scam on my parents house. Never call roto-rooter for any drain repair, they are all crooks, and after talking to former employees this is a common company practice.

@@duggrim5574 That is what the sewer company that took over the job said. I have read about it in comments on the internet so I know that it has to be true. I have a friend who did have her pipe changed. Mine is still in tact.

First time called a plumber, 2nd time used a large auger and did it myself (I own one, but it a pain and messy). I didn't even know about this tool. I went to the hardware store and got it right away and it worked without me getting covered this time. Thank you for the video and tips. This was a weekend and wallet saver!

Havent had to use them for two years now that i put root killer down my pipes 2 times a year I used to use hot water to help unblock the pipes… but the bladders blow up after the second time id do it. It was a plumber who hooked me up with my first one… if that cant clear it, then i rent a commercial power snake

to get the bladder down the clean out pipe get a can of wheel bearing grease. wipe all over the bladder then use use a1" z2" to guide it into the drain pipe.i find this makes it easier to install and remove.the greese will not hurt the bladder.

That same company sells one just like it, but instead of pin hole on one side; both sides have the gold metal piece it’s part #750. THIS IS THE MOST POWERFUL ONE!!!!! The pin hole is okay, but the identical one with the metal piece instead of the pin hole will unclog almost anything. You use to find these at any local hardware years ago until they found out how good they worked & started taking money away from plumbers. Need a couple because will burst & tear after so many uses - but you’ll get your $20 worth. Going on 23 years of 5+ people in the house & never paid a plumber to come. Goes to show how long this tool has been around.
