Installing House Cladding: My Honest Emotions
The cladding is starting on our house build. And wow, I've been feeling the stress of it now! We're waiting for the corrugated cladding to arrive plus the wooden ply cladding is not working out. Hayden has been doing an amazing job.

Aww watching from uk Sunday 28/08/23 😊looking fabulous time 20.01pm
I hate to say it Dear Lady. Don't move in till the inside is almost all complete. Hayden is so right about that. and dust would be only a small part of the issues about moving in way too soon. It is looking so nice and will be a fine little home, just try to be more patient. it will be worth it in the long run. Take care of your selfs gang. Thanks for sharing.
Patients will make life better for everyone. I lived in a house that was being worked on because we didn't have another place to live, and for sure Hayden is 100% correct! The dust and constant moving of things to finish the job, not only made it take longer, but my kids always had congestion from all the dust, it was a nightmare.
You are not alone. I have never spoken to anyone who had a house build go smoothly.
You are so very fortunate that Hayden is building your house. You/he will know exactly how everything is put together and you will have far better quality. Count your blessings.

You are right Ruth my partner left me having screwed up the plumbing and much more to do. I have rolled my sleeves up and accepted that I need to finish it where I can. I would give anything for a kind reliable partner to assist me. Birdy
Yes it’s stressful but if you move in before it’s finished it won’t make the finish happen quicker you just need a hold up of any material and that’s will make your stress go through the roof. Better just wait it out you’ve waited all this time and when it’s finished and walk in for the first time it will be all the more enjoyable.
Patience is a virtue. The best thing you can do is give Hayden the room to properly finish the house. It won’t be long now, so try to relax and enjoy the progress.
Hang on in their, your heading into summer so the van kitchen won't seem as bad. Better to get all the bits done before moving in and having to try and work around extra clutter. House is looking amazing 👏
Hang in there Karen Ive just gotten through a big renovation on our house after living 5 years with a temporary kitchen and builders props holding up the ceiling! We were living in our bedroom washing dishes outside in the freezing cold cooking in any space we could. Taking showers in a bathroom that was being renovated using a composting toilet and eventually a toilet with no door 😄 and just when I thought I couldnt take anymore we turned a corner and it was crazy how quickly it was finished. I am now living peacefully and calmly in my newly renovated home and the kitchen is a dream come true I have my first ever dishwasher Im 60 hahaha. Its an absolute joy to come home these days after years of dreading and enduring. You can do it take each day as it comes and my best advice is learn to let go quickly if something that you planned or wanted hits a brick wall let it go and look for the alternative it helps to keep the project on track time and budget wise. 🙂
Hun your baby will still need to be needy no matter what house your living in. Just be thankful you have a house, a lot of people will never have one. I think you need to stay more positive and count your blessings. If you do that all will be fine. God bless.
Building a home is one of the most stressful situations. Keep the faith, things go faster at the end and it will all be over. Praying for you.
One day (in the not too distant in the future) you’ll be standing in your new kitchen and wonder how you ever managed without it. However, Haydn’s right about not moving in too quickly. It’s so much harder to complete a build with household stuff and small children in the way. It’ll be worth the wait, you’ll see.
Oh wow, that's absolutely fabulous 👌 👏 Don't rush things, darling! It's not pleasant living in an unfinished house with a child! 😘😘😘
Yes, does look like a house, A WAREHOUSE.
It’s literally ok’ing fantastic guys. You have the patients of a saint Karen. It’s not easy doing what you are doing with a little one. I can’t wait to see it complete and you are all in enjoying the comforts of all your hard work. xxx
We are about to start building, motorhome living here I come. House is coming along awesome ❤
You will be glad you waited to move in when it is done. You are going to have a beautiful home in the modern, New Zealand style! Congratulations.

Looking good. Maybe have an open day for your Patreons to come along and help. I believe Mike Scoon is a builder? Keep up the good work.
Wow, what a difference
Having a mailbox and a rapid number is the most important little house.
What progress, looks wonderful, love the combination of the two claddings. You do not want to exist in dust to move in early. Thank you for sharing. Everyone stay safe, happy and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia
Great to see the progress. Not easy when u have a little one to mind. I think if u can don’t move into dust. Wait a Wk or 2 and Hayden will go as fast as he can. Hopefully you’ll get some nice weather to make things easier. Well done.
Liking the style of the outside of your new home to be. 🥰👍
looking great it's evolving
Coming along!
Getting there and its looking great!
Really coming on nicely. You'll have your gourmet kitchen in no time!
Th house is looking good 🎉🎉🎉
5:00 omg i totally understand. We're 2 years into my husband building our 2-storey house extension and I've completely had enough. The fear of going into another English winter with no boiler/heating/hot running water is so upsetting. 😢
The house looks great. Keep going Karen.
Keepp strong. It's looking fantastic. 👌
That waiting is so difficult. It seems you are not alone. People are having trouble with supplies in countries around the world: Portugal France Canada. I don’t know if it helps to know that.
It's nice when the exterior starts to be finished. Then it is just the interior left... I'm not done with mine yet.
It looks amazing Karen. I love the corrugated iron. I know it’s hard, especially with a toddler, but you will get there
Nice work, the house is coming along nicely 👌
Looks amazing, will not be long now.
There are many grades of ply, you get what you pay for, marine grade is the top.
Wonderful progress!
Looking good.
Best wishes ❤
Hi im just curious why on the cabin you didn't use any plywood underneath the building paper but on the house you did? Just planning my own cabin build so just keen to learn and understand. Thanks and really been enjoying the journey 😊
Why such a dark colour ,, that will be awfully hot in Summer ?
Where is this? In which country.?
Looks beautiful so far. 🫶
lovely progress on the new home ☺️ i’m sure it’s all super frustrating to go through the process, hoping the remainder will be able to be done quickly 🫶🏼
