Dude had been locked up and tortured for years, served his country as soldier and senator, went through two bruising presidential elections, got dragged by his own party due to his refusal to genuflect to Trump, and was actively dying of brain cancer by this point. He still mustered the strength to get up there and make the most consequential vote of his life. This was his legacy as a maverick distilled into a single unforgettable moment. He might've been giving the thumbs-down, but he was also giving a giant middle finger up at Trump. Absolute chad.

Healthcare is exercise, diet, positivity, critical thinking skills, nutrition, etc. What you all are referring to as “healthcare” was corporate oligarch’s takeover of the America medical system. It was nothing more than a wealth transfer from America taxpayers to insurance companies and medical suppliers. All at the expense of higher prices, lesser “healthcare”, and sicker people. Barrack Obama and John McCain were the corporate oligarch’s bought and paid for politicians and you guys simply can not comprehend what’s obviously directly in front of your nose. End of the day you have no one other than yourself to blame for the problems in this society and your eagerness to be manipulated by corporate media propaganda and corrupt politicians.

Ahh, good times! With one dramatic flip of the thumb, McCain deflated decades of McConnell's Evil. Sometimes Good does prevail. Bonus if it's a little cocky about it too! One of the best moments in Senate history. And one of the best gifts to the American people. He served his country well.

I want to know what he knew when he went up there. Standing in front of McConnell, putting his hand out like that- he knew he was the deciding vote. But what conversations were had that led to him voting no? The body language tells me there was more than meets the eye.

He had been pretty clear about why he voted no. He didn’t like the skinny repeal, offering no alternative to Obamacare; and he didn’t like jamming a bill with only GOP votes, without trying to work out compromise with Democrats

If people in the future want to see an example of bipartisanship, they can watch this 27-second video. C-SPAN should've named this video "Bipartisanship in a nutshell." PS that disappearance of the grin and the look on McConnell's face when McCain casted his vote made me the happiest man alive.
