I didn't always agree with Senator McCain on certain policies but never the less he was always someone i respected. Not just for his service in our armed services, or his service to our country in Congress, but it was his character and his sense of honor that i always admired he wasn't afraid to stand up for what he believed was right even if it might have been bad for him politically. I wish we could have seen him as president if he had gone up against Hillary instead of Obama i believe he would have won and i would have definitely voted for him. The democrats were pro slavery and popular in the south. Both parties essentially switched what they believe in since that time.

I'm a democrat, and I have deep respects for him. His one vote 3 years ago might have saved millions of lives, especially when we're living in a horrible pandemic. Rip John McCain you will be missed as one of the last honorable republicans and a brave warrior who served his country.

I disagreed with a lot of John McCain’s views, but moments like this were why I always had the utmost respect for him. Even when the rest of his party blindly followed the lead of an unhinged demagogue, McCain defiantly stood his ground and said “No”.

John McCain saved my life. That’s all I can say for why I’m here on this video. I wouldn’t have any kind of insurance today if it wasn’t for him. Thank you, John McCain, and rest peacefully forever you are missed.

I don’t think that’s quite the right way to put it either. People who don’t know about politics (aka most Americans) don’t always hold beliefs that help them and are easily manipulated. I think a better way to put it is that representatives should vote for what they honestly believe will benefit their constituents the most based on their own political experience.

I know that Obamacare had a lot of issues. But McCain was a real patriot by not deleting the heath insurance of many Americans without having a proper (and better) replacement first

Now that’s an honourable and brave man. He voted for his country, not his party.

I'm not even an American, let alone supporter of republican or democrat. But i got tears on my eyes to see a politician with such integrity in that 1 video captured the moment when he said his political opponent "is a decent man", while THEY were COMPETING. I hope his legacy will keep living in many American hearts for many many years. RIP

I actually got emotional at the end and shed a tear. John McCain served the country and had bigger balls than any of the modern Republicans in the Senate currently have. To stand up for people is hard sometimes when special interests and dark money taint it. When people threaten your career. This is a man who had nothing to lose but everything to fight for but he did. Let him be an example to you blue or red that we exist to help each other and to be kinder. Thank you Senator McCain. @@brightdaysaheadofUs McCain should not have run with Palin, she seriously dragged down his campaign. But winning against Obama in 08 was almost impossible anyway. McCain and Romney both represent what I value most in politicians: They have a conscience. My personal views differ in many areas, but these are/were conservative politicians who have understood what it means to serve their country.

He is despised by both left and right now. If I try to understand him I think he wants to repeal Obamacare but thinks there is no adequate proposal. It is a tough position, Republicans have tried to push the interests of big companies, if someone cares for the people will be ostracized.

We desperately need to end the 2 party system!!! It’s sad that something like this is considered to be such a big deal. It only is because McCain thought for himself and not blindly following his party.

@1:21-1:22 you can see McCain stare McConnell dead in the eyes before he walks away. McCain saw the evil and contempt in McConnell's soul and voted against anything McConnell remotely supported. McCain will forever be one of the great elder states people and one of the greatest bipartisan politicians in the history of The United States of America. I feel privileged to have lived in a time where I was able to watch Obama and McCain debate on multiple occasions, 2 genuine giants of democracy debating with earnest and fervor.

I was far from a fan of Mckain's policies but at least he had some common sense. His speech in 2008 when he lost to Obama almost brought me to tears, and i'm as left as they come

This is exactly why, I HIGHLY RESPECT John McCain, and this is exactly why I miss him so much.....

I swear this man was fricken class act! I respect no other republican more than McCain. If that vote was on the side of republicans or democrats he didn’t care as long as it was in the best interest of the American people. God I wish he was here today to show people what a true politician should act like! And this is coming from a Democrat.

although i’m not a Republican, i truly believe that McCain belonged in office. He wasn’t loyal to his party, he was loyal to the American people. Those are the type of men we need in power, not those who only care about egos or wins for the party.

Just watched this after watching Romney vote to remove Trump from office. I know that they’re so few in number now, but at least even today there’s still a little hope for the Republican part and for American in general. R.I.P. McCain
