Hey great podcast really learning a lot! I’m planning on signing up for the course here in a few days once I get back to home to FL from the road, but I had a few questions. Sorry for the long message in advance. So I’m currently a truck driver and want to start a brokerage doing step deck/flatbed loads since I’m familiar with it. But I’m trying to see if it’s possible for me to start cold calling and finding prospects while on the road and is it ok to ask the places I pick up at about helping them with loads and letting them know that I’m a broker or will that cause issues between the broker and my carrier if the shipper tells the broker about me asking for their business. Also let’s just say I’m on the road making phone calls and someone does give me a load on the spot will a laptop and cellphone be enough for me to do paperwork and get the load posted and do everything else needed? Or is it not doable? And should I be mentioning on my calls that I’m Ukrainian and can speak Ukrainian/Russian and a good amount of drivers are also so I can have better communication with the drivers or is that something shippers don’t care about? Please let me know your thoughts! Thanks guys! And by the way Go Eagles lol

You can certainly make calls on your down time as a driver. You should also be able to process paperwork. However, you don't want to prospect the shippers you are picking up from that a broker has booked you for. That is considered back solicitation. We can answer more questions on the upcoming episode if you'd like to provide more details.

@@Freight360appreciate the reply and yeah I thought that wouldn’t be right to do but figured I’d ask the question cause I’m constantly picking up from different shippers. And yes if you could please provide details I’ll be watching so if you could I’d appreciate it!
