Modified Seldinger also used while inserting per cutaneous PD catheter where it gives comparable results, however steps quite different then these.

Is it help full since guide wire always gets stuck in neonates while advancing... No matter how many punctures in a vein are made guide wire fails to advance..

Its used in Cardiology for vascular access to do angiography, stenting the coronaries, to insert temporary pacemaker, to insert intra aortic ballon pump, TAVI and many more in interventional radiology... there's a long list
Why is the first "fine" catheter replaced by a second one, for stability reasons?

yes... since in neonates the venous lumen is very small... the needle may get displaced while inserting the guide wire... to avoid it a fine catheter is inserted first... followed by guide wire insertion...

This technique makes no sense since you want a catheter at the first place and you just place one to replace with another one. Makes no sense.

modified Seldingers technique...makes sense in neonates... not it adults...

Actually when catheter is again advanced over guid wire is desired catheter with desired shape quality etc and catherer removed before is disposable catheter that comes with needle ...
