ohMamarazzi Scrapbooking it makes me cry when i see it happen to a animal because i no what its like since i have seizures that are like what the cat gets but it lasts way longer when i get a seizure at least my pills are good at preventing seizures i also no that if I over work my self i can get a seizure so it hard for me to get a job :( its so hard to just watch a cat having a seizure

poor kitty :( I hope we will get an update to see how the little baby is doing

This is a great video, thank you! My 4 yr old died after non stop seizure. It was exactly 2 months ago. She died within 48 hrs at the onset of seizure . I hadn't a clue what was happening to her. Took her to the vet but the vet didn't/couldn't explain anything even when I told her she had seizure attacks. It was mild at first (but still looked bad). Blood test was done for liver/kidney function as well as FIV and FIP. Liver and kidney were in good shape but she was FIV positive. I asked if she was dying as I wanted to know if I should put her down and cut short the excruciating pain she was experiencing... Vet put her on drips and administered phenobarbital. When we got home she became semi unconscious, suffered paralysis, blindness and status epilepticus (seizure that goes on without returning to normal and can cause permanent brain damage or death) and died the next afternoon. It was the most painful thing I've ever had to experience as a mom. I learned the term status epilepticus from the internet after my girl died. It all happened too fast I couldn't search for answers in time. The article below described everything my little girl went through, muscle spasm, falling, confusion, unusual noises, loss of bowel and bladder control, clenched teeth, irregular breathing, unusual behavior, difficulty speaking, a 'daydreaming' look.. Omg, I'm crying, my cat is starting to have these mild seizures but only when she sleeps. 3 months ago she got a skin problem and the vet said its proberbly a flee allergy but I knew it wasn't they gave her steroid tablets but it came back then they gave her a steroid injection but it cane back. I took her evt hospital and they took blood and skin scrapping and I'm waiting for the results but ans scared it FIP. I DONT WANT HER TO DIES I LOVE HER SO SO MUCH 😭😭😭😭😭

Vets are good for the accidental treatments not for the internal organ treatment, i lost my 4 cats just because people always said if our pet is getting sick go to the vet VET VET VET and vet are not a freeman who listen carefully who diagnosed properly who treated genuinely. This is our pet owner emotions which they are making money of that. That's it

Nice video! I've never seen any of my cats have seizures. I see they're treated much like human seizures. Not much you can do during the event except keep them from falling or otherwise harming themselves. Very interesting!

Poor baby it breaks my heart to see this. I hope after breaking our hearts you will let us know the outcome.

This video was incredibly informative. Thank you so much for posting! My one-year old cat has focal seizures (fly-biting), and is now on Phenobarbital. Other than the tests you have outlined in your video, should I have my cat seen by a vet neurologist if everything comes back normal? I believe that my vet tested for several of these infections/disease states, and they were within normal range, but I will double-check with my vet. What are typical next steps that I should take to find source of seizures? Thank you!

This is sad, but I know she can have a long healthy life. My boxer mix has seizures from time to time that I log on a calendar indicating the day, time and how long it lasted. When he first had one, I videoed it for our vet. Right now he isn't medicated, so we continue to monitor him. I had a foster who had been an outside dog before she came to me. She'd also been HW+ for a year, untreated, before she was surrendered. The first seizure I saw lasted 15 minutes. It was awful. Our vet immediately put her on phenobarbital, and her adoptive mom, who stays in contact with me, says she remains seizure free due to the meds. It's been over a year, and she is as healthy as can be, even though she's a big ole sissy pit bull who thinks she belongs on your lap at all times and cries when you leave. 😊

vestibular disease or ear-balance / nerve damage can impact seisure conditions.

One of my dachshunds is on zonisamide for idiopathic epilepsy. I know this is a fairly new treatment. What do you think of it?

or allergies can also cause seizures i have a dog with severe allergic reaction to wheat flour if he eats anything with wheat flour in it he goes into a seizure by the end of that same day he ate a food he is allergic to

if only there was more funding to find a way to permanently get rid of seizures like if they create something like nano bots that can fix/prevent seizures would it would save a lot of lives

My neighbor cat and dog died from a seizure it was b Very sad the dog they said they the seizure poped a blood vessels in his brain so I hope he didn't feel the pain 😦

If your cat or dog catches Rabies is there a way to treat it like there is for humans or do you have to euthanize them! And is there a vaccine for cats and dogs against rabies

Creature Claw Currently, you have to euthanize them, but, there is currently some research being done for rabies treatment.

And yes, there is a MANDATORY rabies vaccine for dogs and cats.

I have a chiweenie and she won't eat as much no more and I started brushing her teeth but she won't eat any dog food I give her any thoughts

Brittany mcdaniel have you checked her mouth and gums? There's a condition called stomatitis which means inflammation of the mouth and the gums are so inflamed the animal won't eat, some animals chew on one side and/or salivate.

My youngest cat Maple has seizures due to her having a heart murmur

My kitten had a major seizure at home, took him to emergency, and they had to stop a second seizure with valium. Took him to do many specialists and ruled everything out, from toxicity to brain trauma, we still have no answers. He has mini, partial seizures often, it's so scary. I don't know what to do next. If anyone has any advice, please, please tell me!

@@l.k.610 He hasn't had an episode in about a year. The vet still had no answers, and I now always keep a syringe of Valium on hand just in case, but the most important lesson for me was: Get Pet Insurance!! Now, if he ever had another episode and I have to run him in, I won't have any issue affording the bill. He's currently sleeping on my chest with feet in the air 😁

This was hard to watch

I'm freaking out my kitten just had her 1st seizure. I'm so scared for her. I rescued her from the cold weather she has a sinus problem were treating. I have to keep cleaning her eyes or they will stick together. I'm scared for her. I don't want her to pass in my arms.. ii already love her.. with my other animals they are my babies. Idk what to do

Poor little souls - the seizures do not seem as violent as in dogs. But I love cats so it bothers me to see them suffering at all

I dont have money foe the vet for this poor sick cat it had 2 seziures on was 3 seconds on stairs and the 2 seizures was a 2 days ago and it was 9 mins

My advice is to contact a vet, but not just that. Though you really don't want to, you would have to sadly just let the seizure run its course, trying to hold or pet it to calm it down could actually cause more harm Sometimes, pets can actually go running mad during a seizure, so it is highly imperative that you check in for anything that could harm the pet, and move it away. One more thing is to be mindful of what surface the pet is on during the seizure, carpets could end up damaging the nails if yanked out too fast and hard.

My cat convulse all over I have to hold him down for dear life to keep him from busting his head and moving his butt he's got something wrong down in tail and spine I assume he's got brain issues as well

Okay I'm going to tell you a secret about seizures. If you feed your dog or cat a raw food diet and give it a little bit of bacon grease and coconut oil the seizures will stop. Try it out.
