The way my eyes are these days, that magnifier is looking pretty good to me. Sapphire and ceramic are, in fact, nice touches. The price is a little high but since the video was released, it has come down so the market is leveling out. I'll hold out for a killer deal and it'll be a very nice addition to my collection.

Alignment is perfect on mine (black JDM same as in this vid) and the quality overall is excellent. Very happy with my purchase - and I actually like the cyclops - makes it a bit different from the usual Seiko Diver / Turtle..

I see that you mentioned the mm300 here, this is exactly my goal/path for my watch collection. I am getting a King Turtle as my daily driver and eventually, I am gonna save up and buy a used mm300.

The king turtle is one of the best turtle that seiko every released. We have done some minor upgrade on king turtle with sumo hands set. will be sharing on our channel too.

I really like the new upgraded. Perfect turtle.

This turtle is on my next watch list! Just have to see how the sumo feels on my wrist first. Bargain watch!

It’s a pretty nice factory upgraded turtle. I’d have to wear it to see how I like the candy bar magnifier. Since swapping crystals would sort of defeat the purpose of spending extra on this model. The gilt SRP775 is my favorite.. has that vintage look. I’ll likely just keep it. Plus turtles can be picked up so cheap second hand. One of the best bang for buck watches imo.

Waffle gimmick was not necessary, personally I think it makes them quite tacky. For the extra money spent I'd just upgrade a 777.

The upgrades are nice. Sapphire and the bezel and insert, the grenade dial is interesting don't know if I like it yet. The candy bar has to go... Seiko is obsessed with magnification, a style that I don't like. All this however proves that the turtle has so many options now!

I just ordered the baby marinemaster great blue hole today. too much money but i have wanted it for a couple months so i figured i wouldn’t regret it.

I would have a hard time spending $700 for the JDM Turtle...but I agree with you, buy what you like, justifying price is a rabbit hole 😊👍

It almost looks like they are mimicking the turtle shell with the pattern on the face and bezel grips.

I removed the horrible cyclops from my King Turtle. Looks great! I posted a quick view of it. It was a bit difficult but with patients it came off with no issues.

Pretty disappointed that Sumo doesn't get the ceramic bezel like the king.

Can the alignment be fixed by a local watch repair shop rather than send it back?

HardTarget Jimmy depends. Sometimes the seconds marks aren’t evenly printed, so it’ll never be 100% aligned. You can shift the chapter to make it a little better, but it’ll never be perfect if it isn’t printed correctly.

I love the new bezel. I wish they upgraded the movement though.

Everytime i see a seiko ive never seen before the first thing i do is to check if it has the 4R or 6R movement. It bugs me when i see a really nice samurai or something and you know youre getting a cheap movement.

I wish the samurai had the day date complication.

Every single SRPE03 (international model) I’ve seen, either in pictures or at an AD, has had alignment issues. Hopefully the JDM versions offer a bit better QC, especially since you’re paying premium for them. At these prices, Seiko really needs to stop giving excuses for their poor QC, and people need to stop defending them. Just because they’re mass produced doesn’t mean Seiko can’t spend all the money they’re raking in on buying better equipment or hiring more QC personnel. /end rant. That aside, this watch looks incredible.

As long as all the watch geek clowns are prepared to pay for them, Seiko will continue to sell them misaligned. If everyone sent back a misaligned watch they received, SEIKO would soon do something about QC.

Rob, mod suggestion: Change the hands to black-edged or dark gray edged hands. I'm real bored with the stock all silver hands. (Love that new bezel). Yellow minute hand may work too. thanks for the vid!

mr bacchus same...I lucked out and got mine before Invicta made the logo try to fly.

They had all the the right ingredients from *the great white edition*(SBDY031).The foundation was there. They should have just removed the circular pattern from the bezel ,add the color scheme of the srp777 and remove the "save the ocean"motif. Put an ar coated treated sapphire crystal, fit a proper 22mm diver bracelet worthy of a toolwatch and sort the alignment issues.Done.500-600 USmax.Done. These prices are just obscene and seiko is taking advantage of their customers and fanbase.

I still prefer monster.

It's a beautiful watch (would be much better if it lost that atrocious magnifier) but it's not worth nearly $700. For half the money I'll go with the Nethuns Lava II. Almost the same waffle dial, Seiko movement, sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, bicolor lume (which includes a lumed bezel) and screwed links in the bracelet. I love my Seikos and have a baker's dozen of them but this just doesn't work for me.

if they get rid of the candy bar and lume the bezel - I'm SOLD till then ill keep my money

Yeah but it's still a turtle. For the price get a tuna for like 150 more.

Seiya Japan has the blue dial JDM for $498.00.

That’s way too much money to rob a movement out of....probably all I’d do with it.

The candy bar cyclops is arse ugly and completely contradictory to the overall design of the watch. Price is a swing and a miss as well. Has Seiko jumped the shark?

Personal preference done mind it either way. They’re like 500 now. At that price wondering the mods you would do yourself, sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel,dial. All done for you not bad

Pin and collars are an absolute disaster to work with. If you dont have the correct diameter tools to press on the collars your watch will fall off. Even split cotter pins are way easier to use. If San Martin and other decent Asian manufacturers can supply bracelets with screw in pins and decent clasps, Seiko should have the decency to do the same, it's not as if Seiko don't charge enough for their products.

Friends dont let friends gut turtles.

You’re laughing at people who are doing better in life than you are. Now that is funny. 😂 10k is not the same to everyone. Some are just blessed to be able to afford a Submariner without even seeing it as a big thing, while to others it’s unattainable. Same way some people have higher IQs than others.
