The more I compare these watches the more I think King Turtle is best value of these

I’m glad they went with the aluminum bezel. Mine keeps a +6 sec/day so far. But my bezel/chapter ring alignment are just a smidge off. Love the watch. My favorite Seiko.

Thanks for the comparison. I agree in that I like the cushion cases. I own a number of Turtles and still want to buy the mini Turtle. I am wearing my SKX again after a while in my watch box and it always puts a smile on my face. While I really like the Willard, it is too expensive for my liking, so I will be looking at picking up a used one at some point.

Congratulations on the new Seiko! I just got my SBDC109 "Captain Willard" last night. My wrist is also exactly 17 cm. I put the watch on an Uncle Seiko "chocolate bar" strap. I'm very impressed! I was wearing a 39.5 cm Oris Aquis for the past 3 months and I don't feel as if the Seiko is so much lower in quality and I love it's presence on my wrist. I now think that my 39.5 cm Aquis may actually be too small for me. Also, I should admit that I'm a huge fan of the Apocalypse Now movie so I'm prewired to love the SBDC109.

I‘m a bit concerned about the inaccurate Movement of the Spb151... My skx does also run horrible.. Good point with the updated versions from year to year by the way! Great vid. Hopefully you can further compare the new Willard with the MM200 as they are within the same premium price points.

This is just the comparison i was looking for. Do you know if there any visual differences between the sbdc109 and spb151j?

The spb151 to me is the best looking watch, good dimensions and proportions. Still retains that retro look while still having subtle changes that allow it to stand on its own. Sapphire crystal, new movement, improved water resistance, this design has been, and will remain a classic within the Seiko collection and watch world in general. If I could only own one Seiko, the spb151 would be it. In fact, I have the green dial spb153 and will be getting a 151 when my AD gets one in.

definitely the spb151, yes :) - the turtle looks great too, but the waffle-pattern makes no "sense" to me.. it's design with no purpose.. so i love "design follows function" - a design without any function is to me already a distraction and a superfluous thing which i dislike in a way.. i certainly like more the black one than the green one, the green one definitely looks like some pseudo-wrist-grenade :) - the SKX007 is a classic, but i have mine modded a lot (different bezel, dont like the chrome/shiny one at all.. and i have different hands with an orange minute hand, looks pretty diver-tool like...

I think the SRP is the closest successor to the Willard!

I like the aluminium bezel. Like you said, will fade. Also, no fingerprints to wipe off!

Does the SPB151 Willard wear larger or smaller than the skx007?

is it used the ceramic bezel for Seiko SPB151J1?

Can you please tell me why the Sumo sells for $1000? I just don't really get why no sapphire crystal? 🤔

The Longines line is so nice and well put tother when compared to Seiko. I have a Longines Conquest beautiful blue dial in 39mm, and when i compare it to my Seiko Sarx077 blue dial I definitely feel like the Longines is more bang for my buck.

Is King Turtle worth 380US on sale from Macys online instead of the 595 list? I already own SRPA21 and SRP777. Steeldive Willard homage is en route. Sale ends October 25th.

Of all of these I think the regular turtle is a winner, The same classic looks as an SKX, iconic cushion case, better movement 4r36 and sensible pricing, the price of the king turtle is too high if you consider upgrading a normal turtle with sapphire and a ceramic bezel. I'd even say the king turtle prices are bordering on 6r15 movement divers. Of course not anymore as every single Seiko price bracket has risen in price.

I just don’t feel the King Turtles 3D patterns. I wish they have some with just a plain sunburst dial.

Nice collection of Seiko divers,Willard is just fantastic on the nato,single pass much more comfortable, turtle have great presence and good size,skx are always going to great watch to wear. Longines,very nice.

I must be lucky !! My Willard, green dial, keeps very good time. Tending to lose 2 secs per 24 hrs worn constantly. I left it face up overnight and it regains what it had lost.

I’m not worried. Usually all my Seikos perform well and I bet the Willard won’t let me down. If not it’s a chance to learn to regulate myself, never to late to learn. It could run an hour late I’d still love it.

I love my Seiko Skx009 and Skx007 both. Your Captain Willard is a stunner

I like the SKX out of the three. The 7s26 is rudimentary. But its simplicity makes it ultra rugged. 7s26 can go 20 yrs w/o any service.

The King Turtle is 45mm diameter.

I own a king turtle, so I might be bias but it’s the best value seiko diver this year IMO. (At the right price) Just out of interest, can anyone tell me why a ceramic bezel insert is advantageous?

Ceramic bezels won't scratch and show wear like aluminum bezels. This is a plus for some people and a negative for others.

In my opinion I love that green grenade king turtle nothing beats it for the money. Would never spend $4,000 for that Willard. Just bought the king Samurai for 350 brand new

SKX has best looking dial. But all other features are better with more expensive Seikos.

I bet seiko will reissue the skx with a sapphire crystal in 10 years.

BIG statement Dick but true

Cpt Willard is like a real turtle. King turtle remember me a green wall with a big window. SKX I can't understand why is in your video. It's not turtle but dinosaur.
