Hey Lex earlier you invited people from different religions like Islam and Christianity, why don't you invite someone from Indic Religions like Hinduism, Buddhism(including Tibetean, Zen), Sikhism, Jainism or from other asian philosophies like Shintosim etc. For Hinduism(specifically Adwaita Vedanta) you can invite Swami Sarvapriyananda, for Buddhism someone of Zochekchen Buddhism etc.

Total legend. He is for sure the one “science communicator” that I distinctly remember always being exciting for me to listen to. Definitely got me hooked on these topics, as a layperson not involved in these fields. He can engage really well at a sort of “low res” level, knowing what will help get an average audience to begin thinking about these things. But, he can also get so much deeper and show off his chops without making it entirely impenetrable, which is definitely a skill outside of the science itself. Granted, I don’t claim to understand a lot of the deeper complex stuff 😂 but, at a minimum I can start imagining how he and others think about these things, hopefully over time grasping some of these things without actually practicing the math haha

Sean Carroll is definitely the best scientific communicator alive I think. Can make really complex ideas sound simple, is engaging and respectful, doesn't talk down, whilst still gently correcting misconceptions. Brilliant really. Perhaps a slight criticism is that he's just a tad *too* laid-back , could show a bit more passion, but minor nitpick really.

@@dom6512 Agree. As for learning vs challenging , mine "... that you learned something" applies to both. It is an euphemism out of the need to not be rude by explicitly saying that the person (dear to us) is not able to understand, that is beyond his/her possibility, be it because rhetorically decorated hot air, or be it because too complex from the cognitive and/or intellectual pov. To make it short I resort to concepts of Protagora's "Man is a measure of all things" and Plato's cave expressed indirectly - there's no whatever cognitive value if you cannot grasp it for whatever reason (from Protagoras), and it is a vaste of time trying to get in sync with foreign cognitive domains (from Plato). When it comes to relativity, the recital by carapace and their parroting public, it is beyond grotesque. I was surprised to find that I was in sync with what Tesla was saying about all this. Sean is a superb person, love his work.
Amazing content! We are so blessed for this content! Thank you!🌱
Lex once again you impress. There is no peer I see. Your conversations through so vast the information pool are classic. I don’t know if it’s called journalism or a look at the human condition but it’s informative to the tee. Thanks again for what I appreciate is HARD work and an excellent grasp of subject matter from the prospective of the interview.
Sabine Hossenfelder, when? :P

Please don't make fun of me if this is supposed to be a meme or a sarcastic quib, if that's the case, I'm simply out of the loop on it. Otherwise, wtf? Is there at least a good reason for this or is there any reference point to gather any proof or evidence of such a claim?

@@ToadSageSenpai i don't know what to tell you. he randomly blocked a shit ton of people. I came across a thread and I was blocked just like thousands of other people. I never even mentioned him. Just committed the wrong thought crime for Mr. Love Freidman.

Given for granted, he is right to block. No sense to avoid blocking since he cannot read them. And he, or whoever else with a wide public, cannot arrive to read so many comments.

Where your data to support your claim ?
This podcast is the most fascinating one I've watched all the way through that I didn't understand 1 bit of😭😭😭😭
This is awesome I need to come back and finish up listening
I can no longer take Sean Carroll serious after his "Woke Science" stance.

Don't you mean "science" :P
Carroll is not only a presuppositional materialist but he has fully bought into gender ideology -- which discredits everything he ever said and ever will say

No one can make me feel so calm while talking about the vastness and craziness of the universe, as Mr. Carrol does.
One of Lex's greatest gifts, arguably, may be giving understanding of STEM subjects to the layperson understandable🙏👍
These kinds of talks always get me thinking and interested in learning about this subject and stuff. Just the whole idea behind the universe and everything along that sorts. French kiss
This episode is really interesting. Sean Carroll has gained a fan
Lex's ability to intuitively understand these concepts without deep knowledge of the subject is seriously inspiring. I couldnt wrap my head around 90% of this conversation even despite having read all the books and listened to countless podcasts.
Dr. Fridman is an apt interviewer of Dr. Carroll. An information domain PhD talking with a physical domain PhD.
Thanks professor. This motivates me to re-run (3rd round) and continue professor Carroll's "Biggest Ideas" course, and I just ordered those two of his latest books. In addition to that, these Lex Fridman physics discussions have helped me a lot on my self paced physics MOOC-studies. I really can recommend this podcast series as additional support material for the "Subatomic Stories" on-line course of Fermilab too.
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode with Sean Carroll!
