I think you have to warm up the engine to operating temp, then just read the steps, and it does contain this step

What causes seafoam to smoke is the naphtha I believe. The smoke isn't from it cleaning

The throttle plate opens toward the bottom of the throttle body. That's where you should have put the spray tube vs on the top. The instructions even say to position the spray tube on the side of the throttle body that the throttle plate opens. Always follow the instructions. Afterward fire the truck up and take it for a spirited drive. That's almost exactly what the instructions say to clean all the crap outta there. Again, follow instructions.

You are hilarious with the outfits! I drove a truck WAY older than yours 2001 f150, and she’s a bit crusty on the rocker panels and cab corners. I confuse people when I step out of it in a suit (I work a stuffy office job).

I did this the other day on my truck, during the hot soak for 15 min…I decided to check my air filter and noticed that a lot of what I sprayed into the throat throttle came pouring out.

I know this is over a year since you've asked, but I've seen a lot of people say not to do it on the EcoBoost engines because it can ruin your turbos.

I've heard that doing it can send garbage into your turbos and prematurely ruin them. But so far I haven't had any issues. Though my truck had pretty low miles compared to yours.

Sea foam is bad for an engine I've been a mechanic for near 20 years and never have used it but seen the aftermath. It will literally eat the fuel filter up when used to often and fuck up sensors make plastics brittle. It's bad stuff, great for old school rides and muscle cars but newer vehicles can't handle it. Best thing to do is just run good gas. I put about five gallons of race fuel a month in my truck and keeps her running smooth.

this garbage through the intake will take thousands of miles off of your converters. Disconnect them or better yet use a nitrogen based cleaner like the pros do......even better don't use anything unless you know you need it.
