Sometimes, Scully's skepticism (though the point of her character) makes no sense... after everything she has witnessed over the past 25+ years, why do ghosts seem like a far fetched idea to her? Especially after that one Christmas episode with Ed Asner and Lily Tomlin?

Exactly!! She has literally saw THREE ghosts that I can think of off the top of my head! 2 in the Christmas episode and the murdered girl that she saw in the bathroom when she had cancer!

Honestly, Scully was the one convincing Doggett in season 8 for awhile of the existence of most things that are more wild than the idea of ghosts. I mean, Scully even believed firmly in aliens so that she could get Mulder back. I'm pretty sure Scully deep down doesn't completely NOT believe in such paranormal ideas as ghosts, but like someone said in a previous episode awhile ago, Scullys main goal in her relationship with Mulder is to prove him wrong. No matter the implications. Scully is and always will be a scientist first, that's a given, so she probably just needs proof for anything and everything that hasn't been definitively proven yet. With the way this show works too, I wouldn't trust my own eyes myself, so expecting Scully to is hard. I'm not defending her, I'm just trying to share some insight I think I may have made into her character and why she isn't able to believe what is obviously real (at least for what's real in the show)

@@samthelion3925 I agree. And she knows she always has to play devil's advocate and push Mulder to find proof and work harder. That's why they work so well together.

Because Chris Carter is an incompetent writer. Why does she write off Wiliam as some sort of experiment at the end, even though before that she wanted to love and adopt Emily despite her being an experiment. There are so many contradictions in his story writing that make no sense, he ruined the x files after season 7.

Question: If Mulder and Scully are living together why do they have separate rooms?? Answer: Chris Carter is the showrunner and he has no respect for the fans

@@LilyRose8959 yes, i know but before we knew all that, in the second episode it's presumed that they live together... you remember when they are casually asleep in the couch with the tv on... then Mulder says "we have to take a trip to IKEA" to buy new furniture together, and later Scully tells Skinner "We can't go to OUR home."

Scully herself believes in ghosts as she has seen and witnessed ghosts many times throughout the series. I love the season two episode where Scully is in a coma following her abduction and sees her deceased father visiting her from the other side, in the episode Scully is also literally guided by a supernatural guardian angel in the form of a nurse.

Excellent dialogue! 👍 This really highlighted the charming familiarity between these great characters.

Any oldtimers here like me get the "knock 3 times" reference that Mulder says? It's from the 70s Tony Orlando and Dawn song. "🎵Oh my darling, knock! 3! times! on the ceiling if you want me...🎶" ❤❤❤

Haha I’m 21- got it immediately as my dad used to play the song. I was really hoping scully would knock 3 times in tune with the song at some point in the episode to really land the reference. Unfortunately that didn’t happen.

As a christian I LOVE x files. It's such an insightful show that doesn't take sides but makes deep points about both sides. Like how interesting it is that Scully choses to believe in a god yet not the aliens stuff mulder believes in. And even if it's written by an atheist (idk if so) they've correctly pointed out there is something incredibly unique and different about religion that sets it apart from other more non conventional beliefs. Man I wish more of those big essay channels would analyse x files

Scully you literally experienced multiple hauntings-

David looks so fit and sexy in this episode (and not only, but especially) B-) And Gillian looks terrific as well. But two Mulders was kind of... a dream come true :D

LOL what the hell happened to 'i'm shaking just reading this, wishing you were here saying it in person' Like they're not in love and sleeping together? Chris Carter!! grrrr

I just saw this episode. I enjoyed it, but its average at best. The greatest part was seeing the heroes renew the romantic side of their relationship, since they’re true soulmates who belong together. However the weakest part was Scully still being a natural skeptic of the paranormal after all this time. It just doesn’t make any sense, with all that she’s seen and experienced since the beginning. She was after all more of a believer in seasons 8 & 9, as well as most the revival series. I get that the skepticism is supposed to be a way of her maintaining her objectivity as a scientist and detective, as well her charm and appeal, but it’s as if in episodes like this, she hasn’t changed at all.

Scully is a woman of science. It's in her nature to be skeptical, it's who she is. She's become more open minded but she's not a believer. In order to become one, she would have to abandon her entire believe system. Abandon her science. Mulder respects that about her. He would never expect nor want her to become a believer because then she would no longer be the Scully he and we all know and love.

I'm in Arizona... so this hasn't aired yet (36 minutes till it does!!) **struggles to resist spoilers**

They should really run once they find William, they’ve been doing this 20+ years. Maybe if you run longer and Faster, smoking man won’t able to find you. Skinner can’t be trusted for now, but agent Doggett could still be out there somewhere, it’s time to consider what you do if you actually found William

Dragonball Radiant: Yeah, I'm wondering if Doggett will show up for a guest appearance. I actually liked him (how could I not like Robert Patrick?) and while noone could replace Mulder, Doggett would be an invaluable ally. I've only recently started getting back into it and I like it so far.

Well that was a very neat proof there Scully and although this has a lot towards it by the professor in Canada best doesn't explain how happens in most since you don't have probing of the temporal lobes This merely has the mechanism but doesn't say where they come from...???

I thought Scully and Mulder met ghosts before, the ghost couple in that Christmas episode?

Well, that was difficult to watch. I´m sticking to X-Files seasons 1 through 7 . Everything else is pretty much worthless, or simply NOT the X-Files. These guys just grew old, and tired and the seem to still be arguing over the same things int he same way. Rehashing the same old.
