Scratch Patterns

Музыка

This is just a walk-through of some patterns that I have been trying to learn over the last 4 years or so. These patterns don't come naturally to me as a scratch dj/turntablist from the mid 90's. But I love the challenge of learning new things.

Great video! thanks for uploading. Do you have a link to the "2 1 2" combo you were mentioning at the end of this video? thanks

Scratches would be easier to learn if people would demonstrate the physical combination of the motion between the deck and the fader vs demonstrating the differences in the way it sounds.

Dj Aslan I've been a DJ for over 30yrs and for 25yrs. For years, I could not grasp the concept of the scratches in your video. Then someone told me to turn the sound off and emulate the physical movement of the various scratch technics. If instance, I learned how to crab and chirp scratch with the sound off quicker than I did when I tried to learn with the sound on. I now when I teach people how to scratch, I first demonstrate the combination of the motion of the scratch with the sound off before I demonstrate with the sound on.

@@DJTravisGales that's great you finally got the concept of scratching by watching instead of listening. Back when i first started scratching in 1986 i did BOTH, i watched and listened and i picked it up pretty quick.. Peace Travis .

Hey man. Great video! How are the cuts going now? Ive recently got back into scratching after 6 years off and loving it. Can't quite get the autobahn where I want it though, plus, the version I'm working in has 9 notes, does yours also? Cheers
