Bro I’m 52 and just getting started. I Love It! It’s relaxing. I always loved music and dancing. It will probably be a long time before I would think of charging anyone to DJ but I have a greater respect for what every DJ does and the commitment they have made! Thanks to all the great videos we don’t have to start out like they did! Let’s Do This!!

Bro I just inspired me, I was literally putting my equipment up and feeling dejected because I felt like I was to seasoned to start something at 43 years old. Then here comes your post! Thx Bro

45 next month and I'm just now getting into the basics of scratch. It's such a beautiful sound when done correctly.
Dude! You include the ESSENTIALS that nobody else does...like where things line up, the platter moving under the record, etc...Thank you! I've been a musician for 35 years and I'm 49 now and I SO want to learn to scratch! Great teaching! Liked and subscribed!
as a person who grew up among dj community and worked as tech/stage manager who read all manuals and done all equipment changeovers at many festivals over 15 years i’m finally starting my own journey of djing and i loved this video as there’s no bs, just simple and coherent instructions - bloody love it!
This is the best free software Ive seen. Respect.
Well done explanations. Also, make sure you keep touching the gain knob on your mixer without actually changing its level at any given time ;).

Exactly the thing I was noticing. Is that some DJ fidget thing?
@reillocb

@@vgavilla I'm just a beginner, but I've already realized that the knobs are surprisingly sensitive. You think he's doing nothing, but if he moved it any more it would be too much
I’m starting my journey into scratch madnesses today!! I will stay by mastering these three technics
Great teaching, very measured, calm, & clear. Thanks!
I learned more on here today then ever...same mechanics as a mpc just different mediums...timing timing timing and proper hand placement...I just subscribed!!! Great video...I’m out to start scratching ASAP
I want to go to NY, and go to your school!! Respect from the UK

Love this! Everything is beyond clear 👌
thanks for the basics, i never know there's a basic in this, just hit it and hear it good
Hi all. Another fun scratch to try is called the drill. It’s basically a very fast scribble. Just tense your arm & move the record really fast. It works great with a kick or snare drum to get the drilling sound!
Scratch boys making me itch... Man this was wicked!Dope skillz dude!
Absolutely fascinating. Subscribed.
I hope i lean ,because this is my biggest fear from dj ..thank you so much for showing me ,I really enjoy it .....Respect 🙌

Salute to you. I just subscribed because I've never been a scratch dj but I've always wanted to learn. I think I'll give a shot. 👍

muchas gracias prendiendo de tus enseñanzas , tnx very much
Yeah! Very good! Thank you! What vinyl is that you have the samples from? Which one is that?
New to tour channel. Thanks for the vids. I used to dj in my late teens/early 20s & just regifted myself a pair of 1200s. I have a question if you or anyone can answer. Which vinyls are good for scratching?? Thanks!
i really liked your tutorial its simple enough kids can do it. i'm a local bboy and teacher in my state of RI. I was wondering if you have any virtual resources for my kids related to DJ, scratching, beat mixing or hip hop knowledge that i can share with them.
It was a bit difficult for me to go straight into crabbing and scratching. This really shows you how to get the feel. Now I can crab some basics after watching other videos
Thanks a lot for these clear cut lessons! Tablism for life!
Great instruction!
The best and easy way ...ty 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Sweet! Nice one mate. I just realised how can I scratch if I don't know the basics. Looking forward to learning other techniques.
Always loved the R sound ..first time I heard it was when I was listening to UTFO Roxanne Roxanne

Muito bom!!! Very Good!!!
Hey, is the drag skratch what you would use when doin your 1-Click Flares, & 2-Click Flares? I've been practicing those lately, & it seems very close to the hand movements im making, when pulling off the 1 or 2 Click Flares.lol......bahaha... just curious brotha. I gotta practice that today, those 3 basic skratches are wicked important, as far as hand movements go, it all kinda wraps itself together, I think I'm starting to click with certain aspects of skratching finally. Lol... Thanx DJ Noumenon, cool video, Respex, Big Upz, & Mad Love to the Skratch DJ's.... 👍💪👊😎🙏🔥💯
Thank you for this
1, 2, 3, 4, Scribble! Yeaaaah
Always thought it was easier and less confusing to put the tape marker @ 9 o'clock where your hand would start, letting it go and following the marker pulling it back to the beginning position.
Awesome video!
Man... Great 👍
Wow you made that so easy. I had no idea how to scratch, but this tutorial was perfect. Wish there was a school in san diego i could go to learn more. I blend beats but could never scratch. Thanks

All that scratching is making me itch. :-)
Scratch DJ Academy. I’m a 51 year old hip hop drummer who has a badly damaged right wrist that has had 7 bone crunching operations to date and I feel my drumming days are limited … I’ve always wanted to be able to do this … I do not have any vinyl records so would a Serato set up be a good choice as I have about 8 tbs of music in my iTunes …. If so could you recommend a set up? Not necessarily the bone cheapest but also not a full on Mix Master Disaster set up either …
EXCELLENT!!!!
Sir, can I use Stanton T60 and Numark MT pro 3 as a controller.?
Grande 👍
love the guy
Anyone know the name of the first breakbeat (the one on the left, off-screen player, not the vinyl he is scratching but the one he scratches over) and where I can find more similar ones?
Please, what is the difference between scratching on a dj controller like the Numark Mixtrack Pro FX and a Technics SL 1200? I know that the jog doesn't make the movement back, so in this case I have to do this movement on the controller?
What do you have the weight dialed to on the needle?
Do you guys know where I can find the “ahhh” & “Fresh” scratch sounds? Or even the original audio including both of them?
Wow where was all this information back in 83'🙄. Maybe I wouldn't have gotten punished for ruining mom's records on the Hi -fi.
Where can you find samples for scratching ? For example the ahh spund I heard there's a name for when you let go of the record and it says ahh
I have seen a few dh's recommend that the tape on the platter method how ever i and using Traktor DJ and as you know the platter is complete 360. Is it still a good idea to use the tape methods on this controller or should i just be paying attention to the screen and watching the wave itself?
@Shwahface

Tape doesn't help with controller jog wheels. Unlike a vinyl, where the sample is in a fixed physical location, the position on the controller's jog wheel will change every time you use the sample. A lot of controller are starting to incorporate og wheel disthat will sh the needle position relative to your cue point, eg. pioneer DDJ 1000.
