this channel and Rob Swift's are so dope. What i would've given for these kind of tutorials in 97....

@def creator You're in the 1% of people that make that kind of statement and it's true. I was going to call you a dick but checked your channel, realised you're the DJ Jeff who made 'Change The Scratch' and you do have insanely good chirps. That was my favourite track off 'Return Of The DJ Volume 2' .

@def creator @def creator I partly disagree... If you just use the tutorials and copy what's out there without adding something to it then I agree. But in order to bring the art form further why not?

I love how D Styles teaches the art of Scratching without the Scratch notation systems or blue prints .I personally think that those restrict the Funk and Natural feel of your hand on the record that's just my opinion...Peace Love Good Health & Music
I’ve been practicing for 2 hours a day and watching another scratch practice video every day to add something new. Seriously, my scratch game really taken leaps and bounds because of these videos. Learning to scratch vinyl is definitely not as easy as you make it look!

it just proves that you really don't need super difficult combos to sound good......More Power and God Bless

Brilliant tutorial, also I like how you never edited out the bit where you messed up. Just goes to show that a turntablist as amazing as you also makes mistakes. Keep the tutorials coming 👍

D-Styles is a true inspiration. Thank you brother for all the years of amaizing music , mixes etc. Never seen your live set yet but one day. Been a fan from going back to the Shiggar Fraggar shows. Since then i always looked out for your music as it is very unique compared to other DJs. You know how to push the envelope mixing all types of music genres. Great tutorials Dave. Just eating it all up. Only three months in skratching. Found myself going back to basics with chirps and only just touching transforms. Started with learning flares first off . So need to get the basics right first.

Can anyone answer me a question.. the term "tip" in context to the baby scratches. Is there a lexicon that explains that and other anatomy of a scratch sound?
@BeatJunkies1992
5 жыл бұрын
Tip is just a very short Baby scratch and you are just using the tip of the sound. So for this combo its 2 tips or aka 2 short baby scratches.
@jbforce10
5 жыл бұрын
If you imagine the duration of the sound as a line from start to finish, just using the "tip" is a way to describe only using the first portion of that line.

@@BeatJunkies1992 Nice.... It looks like the Numark CC1. I picked up a Ortofon Concorde Scratch Mk2 which is great, but it needs 4 grams of tracking force, which sounds crazy to me. I feel like it's cutting into my vinyl. I'm not used to that much weight.
