    This scp-001 they could be talking about is the D-class from the SCP game. In the game, the D-class you play as can either deal with a 682 containment breach or the old man escape. If we do the old man escape, it's possible for the D-class to recapture the old man, the foundation will rescue the D-class and in the end ponder the idea of considering this D-class in particular an SCP because of his extreme luck and uncanny recognition of the most unpredictable hazards as if he has dealt with them before. As a result, the foundation will consider the person who is manipulating the D-class an SCP because we are able to control a D-class to do things in our place and train them to deal with the most unpredictable situations.

    Of course, it's also possible that the real SCP here is an infohazard: Namely, the idea that this SCP exists. Being told and believing this single piece of information could spell the end of humanity, just as it did in R-42, regardless of whether it's true. Edit on 11/25/22: It's an infohazard, not a cognitohazard. Got them totally mixed up. My bad.

    So, according to this, the first human or homosapian was the first of our ancestors to make a decisions based on preference, instead of instinct. So, the true anomaly is not specifically humans, but the consciousness we developed that allowed us to operate with free will instead of on instinct alone. Sounds abt right.

    For anyone interested, the "you split off into the choice you made while other versions of you are created for the other choices" is actually a very incomplete understanding of the theory. If we all had our own wave function which responded to our choices, this would be true. We don't. We operate on the universe's wave function as a whole, so when the wave function transitions, which is essentially when any particle in the universe exits a state of superposition, it becomes all possible outcomes at once. The version it was essentially ceases to exist, instead split off into all possibilities. The implications of this are that this happens far more than when you make a choice. There are.. well it's hard to quantify, but an unimaginably large number of splits of you and the entire universe being made every second, with the original no longer existing, instead becoming all possible versions. Your different choices will undoubtedly fall on that spectrum, but they are inconsequential in the grand scheme and have little to no effect on that scale. You are not the same version of yourself you were even a second ago, you're a descendant of you, a perfect split. By the time you've read through this, you will have been split many times more.

    This theory relies on the belief that for some indistinguishable and unknown reason that anything in the universe can be changed or spontaneously be making more than one movement/action. Its also very possible this is the only universe, there is no free will, and everything happening in the universe is basically a massive cause and effect since the very first moment until the last dying gasps of nothingness.

  • @ObnoxiousNinja99

    @@PhoenixFiresit could be that, there is still a multiverse in the sense you intend (from what I understand), it would just have to be cyclical in some kind of “hyper time” (time in between individual universe…whatever that means just go with me here). I.e. only one universe at a time, but each one’s initial conditions (from moment of big bang) are either independent of or in relation to the previous universe’s initial/final condition, which would possibly instantiate every possible variation of the universe…you’re right though, this death and rebirth of the universe would make this kind of SCP impossible (since only one universe exists at a time)

    @Thingaloo actually life is the exception to the rule, due to the fact that it's rare and an anomaly in the universe. It is only considered likely due to the number of chances given by she sheer vastness of our universe, but it would still be incredibly rare. This is especially true, when you consider the Fermi Paradox, which suggests the lack of empirical evidence and the statistical probability of advanced extra-terrestrial life is something of a paradox.

If you think humans are boring and mundane, that's just your pov, which makes sense that would be the pov of a human living in a society full of humans. If you lived your whole life on the moon the moon would be boring and mundane too, but because you never have been there, just simply going to the moon would be the craziest thing ever.

    Nah, we're just basically a number of colonies of ants in some mostly empty field a couple hundred feet from a highway between actual cities. Tiny little eyes that can't see, nor possibly comprehend, what actual intelligent life looks like, operates, thinks, or would exist. Probably under some sort of "protection" by some governing body in the universe, but it is poorly enforced. They protect us from directly nuking ourselves (research UFO sightings around nuclear weapons locations and power plants) but we can totally great filter ourselves and do us a Darwinism. However we are still likely being influenced, but since we are pretty sucky and toxic, it probably isn't worth the resources from said universal government to actively do much about it except for ulterior motives.

    It’s entries like these that makes me love the SCP universe. Rather than seeing it as simply a website where people can place their own made up anomalies it makes it like an actual reality. The word "decision" here is being used as a technical term, and it does not mean a conscious, thinking decision, but rather like a rube goldberk machine's ball falling into one path versus another based on minute local environmental factors like the wind currents in a room or how hot or humid the air is, or how wet a surface is that the ball is rolling on.

    Actually if you want to be technical it's not a specifically a sub-atomic particle which makes the "decision". Rather it is whenever a wave function collapses which can be an arbitrary size and include multiple particles. Most of the time it's not a single particle interacting too because there are many things in particle physics which are dependent on each other. It's why colliders need to take in such a huge set of data just to observe one particle.

    Due to this video, I have devised a new theory on what SCP-049's "pestilence" actually is. By definition, it is "a fatal epidemic disease." My first theory was that it could have been some sort of evil that is present in all humans, but after seeing what SCP-049 does to individuals (making them mindless corpses), and the fact that he says they are cured of this pestilence once he does so, this version of SCP-001 could be the pestilence SCP-049 is talking about. Here's some similarities between the two: -Both exist in all humans (All individuals SCP-049 interacted with have this "pestilence") -They have seemingly no effect (on the surface that is) on any infected individual. -Both can be prevented by making the individuals seemingly mindless creatures (i.e. they cannot think for themselves). It all lines up, it's a very interesting theory, but I want to see what everyone else thinks.

It does NOT postulate what is said at the beginning of the video (the idea that somehow, human consciousness is magical and special, which we know is false) and EVEN if it did, there's no indication that there should ever be a limit, there's no reason why there should be one. It's like saying "if too many molecules of water go through the cycle of rain-river-sea-evaporation-cloud, the earth explodes". Like, what? No it doesn't.

    I suppose the question becomes the nature of the anomolous. Other events in nature other than human decison making can have branching outcomes; sometimes just due to sheer randomness. Therefore, any species or other entity/object/ etc could potentially exist only in a small number of universes campared to the number of those where that eventuality never arose. So if thats the case, then one must ask: isnt every eventuality potentially anomolous in the context of an infinitely variable multiverse or omniverse, where there could be more realities where a given eventuality does not occur than where it does? In that case, the standard for "normalcy" and what does or doesnt violate it, even on a multiversal scale, becomes highly subjective. The SCP creative universe (for lack of a better term, since theres no single unified canon) there is the concept of "concensus reality", which is determined by the 05 Overseer council. If humanity itself is an anomoly, then the definition of normal is itself being determined by a group of instances of an anomoly; which is paradoxical unto itself. Even if the 05s elect to eradicate humanity or an entire branch of realities to remedy this, that is still the result of a decison made by beings who deem even themselves to not be normal. What right does an abnormality, a cosmic anomoly have to determine how best to uphold normalcy? This is circular logic. As an analogy, this is cancer conciously deciding to destroy the body it inhabits because it recognizes it is already destroying the body.

    Multiple SCP-001's is actually the point. The theory is that one (may) actually be the true SCP-001, while all the others are just a smoke-screen. Of course, the "real" SCP-001 may still be a secret and they are all smoke-screens! We just don't know. However, some SCP-001's are known to be true for certain alternate realities. The Factory comes immediately to mind.

    The fictional universe and community of writers behind it have a "no official canon" sort of philosophy about it. So the SCP cannon can be whatever you want it to be, some canons are more coherent than others obviously, and I believe there is a list of constructed canons from multiple sources. Having no official canon makes sense when you have an entire community of writers behind a fictional universe, contradictions and potholes are bound to arise. This sort of philosophy is extended further with SCP 001, which one is true? Whichever one you want. It's your personal head canon. Hell maybe some of them are and some of them aren't. It's all up to creative interpretation.

    The true SCP-001 is you and I. SCP-001 is meant to be the origin of all SCPs. The origin of SCP is a wiki developed by higher level beings for what they consider to be their fictional entertainment. That is the truth. All others is smokescreen. The gods are cruel.

    I like to think that this SCP is tied to the bigfoot story. Maybe humanity isn’t actually an evolution of thr bigfoot people. Instead, SCP 001 took some of the bigfoot people and turned them into humans. That would make the entire human race, and all of human civilization an anomaly. SCP 001 did this because it wanted to create that whole human consciouseness thing from the SCP 5000 story. However, it only did that it one dimension, wich is why humanity only existed in one dimension. This being probably had plans of taking over the multiverse. So, all of humanity is an anomaly created by an anomaly in order to take over the universe.

  • @JustforNow-ty5zt

    @JustforNow-ty5zt

    Humans could have some sort of free will thing that the bigfoot don’t have. That’s why human decisions create other dimensions. Perhaps the bigfoot, and all other non-human living things, all already have their decisions planned out by some higher being, this one being different than the being that created humanity.

  • @JustforNow-ty5zt

    @JustforNow-ty5zt

    2 жыл бұрын

    It’s also possible that Bigfoot had a hive-mind. Giving humanity a hive-mind was one of the things the SCP in the alternate dimension proposed. That’s why they didn’t have freewill.

    Also, SCP O, Death could actually have been made by an alternate SCP foundation that discovered SCP 001. Also, the killer lizard SCP and the headless deer SCP (I’m bad with names) probably know about SCP 001. It was suggested in the SCP 5000 story that the lizard did know about it and the headless deer does want to “reduce humanity and the world to a primitive state”. Really, you can tie this whole thing with a bunch of other SCPs.

Not like these days when all stories HAVE to be super serious and grimdark or they are quickly labeled as "joke" SCPs. Even though most of the best SCPs were always the comedic and satiric ones or filled with dark humor.
