It is certainly possible Ferdinand is of this family. I mean, look at them, one big ugly family.

I (seriously, I'm not joking) love how this is more mild compared and leaves out the far more disturbing aspect of this SCP. These creatures were doing things way worse than just eating people... They were trying to procreate with humans. The results were the female hosts all dying as the spawn burst from them. One host was rescued by an MTF unit, only for the spawn to burst out and lead to the deaths of the woman, the unit, and the helicopter pilots.

It includes the notions of nobility viewing themselves as superior, as was common, but the direct mentions of the Hapsburg line and the constant reminder of “purity of blood” makes many more callbacks to the extreme inbreeding of the Hapsburgs and of European nobility in general

This one stuck with me for years, largely due to the sheer insanity of these deformed and depraved monsters.... I mean this SCP multiplies like freaking rabbits. The list of diseases is no small thing either. Leopold’s outfit is highly anachronistic. I think there might be some confusion of the Holy Roman Empire with the Roman Empire. They were not the same. The Holy Roman Empire was a collection of German city states and when Leopold was reigning he would wear similar clothes to ones you would see worn by 17th century kings

@@eobardthawne3333 the difference was a matter of well over a thousand years. Wouldn't be accurate in the least. The name holy roman empire was an attempt by the church to link their chosen HRE back to the RE of antiquity but this was in name alone. The Russian Empire largely did the same thing but with a more legit claim. This was like showing a tsar dressed as a an ancient roman since the title is tied to caesar. Long winded, but yeah, not yeah, all the way back to Charlemagne HRE never dressed that way.

Also, could Ferdinand the Cannibal be one of these Aristocrats? The similarities are plenty, when you think about it.

I love the lore that’s come up, but I’m not the biggest fan of it popping up wherever just for the sake of popping up. It’s more mysterious when there’s no explanation at all. At least for me. To each their own I suppose.

I have been waiting for this episode forever, this is the first SCP entry I ever read.

I like how the operative set his bomb off. That's cool, creepy but cool.

I usually think I won’t ever get affected by any scp because I live in Europe. Now I’m afraid because if the scp foundation were to be real I’m in danger.

Random, but the king saying "...but some are more noble than others," reminds me of one of the rules in Animal Farm that was changed under Napoleon that said, "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others."

Honestly the habsburgs might've tried to do extreme inbreeding at one point and created creatures like 3822 but less durable and more human not saying much since it was the habsburgs

That's unclear actually there hasn't been any tales connecting Ferdinand and the habsburgs but I like to think that Ferdinand was one of the earliest instances of 3288 and thus less inbred

An infamous anomaly that makes the song "Sweet Home Alabama", look like a sonnet in comparison. And we wouldn't have it any other way. Day 277 of asking the O5 Council to use SCP-1968 to create a universe in which 682 doesn't exist.
