Did I see blade up and down or just up as in grinding

i have never seen spark coming out of my scotch belt, what is the speed on that bench grinder?

3,450 rpm and not adjustable. Way too quick! I need a variable speed grinder

Also, it's likely my belts are slightly contaminated with grit. Have a relatively small shop and keeping grit from everywhere is a constant challenge lol

Nice explanation. Can you use a 2x36 scotch brite belt on a 4 x36 sander? Thanks

Possibly; if you have enough adjustment to keep it running true. I do believe they sell 4x36 scotch brite “non-woven” belts on supergrit though!
