We shared a hug and tears in the stairwell and went back to our "dates". We had broken up but among thousands of people, we ran into each other during a bathroom break having no idea the other would be there. Scorps were always our band. World Wide Live, our album. A love story that ends tragically like so many others. But thank you Klaus and company. You will help me keep him in my heart forever. Any young people reading? Follow your heart always. Don't settle. If you know someone is "the one", go get them and don't let go.

This is still the one no matter what people say about the weariness of this masterpiece. Such classic ballads are made no more.

There are certain 80’s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them.

I can't believe how many different artists sang the song and did it so beautifully it's just a pretty song isn't it so so sing your hearts out

This song resonated with me. When I was a senior in HS, 1984, I had a girlfriend that took my heart. It was the best time of my life and like an ass, I ruined it. I was honest about it as the guilt was overwhelming. Things were fine for a couple of months but when Christmas came that year, she came by the house and gave me my HS ring back. It was over and I was crushed. This song and Careless Whisper by Wham were my songs to drink and sob to. It was a major lesson and I would never be that stupid again. This song is a perfect example of where I was hoping to redeem myself.

Ok, I'm going to make a bold statement... I've already commented once about how haunting this song is for me (you'd have to have been there). I was an a young adult in the eighties and lived/loved through the music of that era. So, here it goes... This song gets my #1 Choice for Rock Love Ballad of all rock history!!! It has that intangible "something" that goes deep and rings my heart. It had to be the Scorpions to play/sing it, too. I rarely state anything as #1 because there were SO MANY great songs to choose from. But, I don't think I will ever change my mind. No. And I will never change Billy Squier as my favorite from America and Def Leppard beats out Queen by a 118th of a hair. Whew! I did it!!! What a decade! So grateful!!

It was the 70's for me... so many great bands, especially with the British invasion (ELO, the Stones, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, etc.). When I first heard of the Scorpions, "The Winds of Change" was my favorite. Now, I see how great all their songs are. In my 80's now and still listening to all the good stuff!

This is one of the best slow heavy metal songs of all time, never gets the recognition it deserved, you are awesome scorpions love you guys

It still plays on radio today.. If that isn't recognition I don't know what is.

The unmistakable sound of the great 80's. One of the greatest era for music. That acoustic..... You'll know it's the 80's when you hear it. Heart, Def Leppard, Poison, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper, Steelheart, Journey, etc etc. and so many more..... Oh how i miss those days.

I was 15/16 when I first heard this song. It brings back the most beautiful memories. Makes my heart ache for those times. I'm 52 now, times are different, music is very different. I miss those years.
