My first scooter was a 1986 Honda Elite 150D I bought in high school new and rode until I sold it in 1998. Just bought a 2008 Benelli Andretti X50 and it needs work to run again but am going to give a little more oomph to it. Found your channel and am subscribing this is helpful stuff.

Hey.,i have a Aprilia leonardo 125cc 1998. What other brands scooters have the same CVT so i can find correct springs for the torque and clutch? And maybe even the rear part itself as the grooved slots the clutch rides on are worn so the scooter is sometimes stuck in high speed and are slow to get acceleration again. Please advise. @scooterswapshop hey so I just bought a 2018 genuine roughhouse sport scooter and it came with the restrictor off and it tops at at around 45mph what would you recommend on upgrades for the transmission and exhaust ? Would like it to go faster but don’t wanna make it where I can barely go up hills, I live in Connecticut so there’s hills. Thanks in advance for the help

45 is about what your gonna get out of it but call the shop talk to paul he can tell you if there is anything you can currently get for it

Interesting, what do you reccomend for a 150cc? I got banjin driveface oko variator with 12g, ncy clutch and ncy 1500 contra spring. When i was completely stock i was able to do 60 with 17 rollers and when i slapped those parts i lost about 3mphs even though i went lighter on the rollers im not reving near as i was before.

you need to take it one step at a time when tuning there's no weights I can tell you to use that's gonna achieve what you need all pieces work together.

17g rollers and a light contra spring is gonna give you the best top speed at low R.P.M...

I don't have any power tools & ratchet gun etc. I only use good old box spanner with torque wrench. How tight should i torque pulley and clutch bell nut?

What do you think? I have 2007 yamaha c3, Polini speed variator, 4.5 dr pulley sliders, Stock springs and contra. 29 to 35 mph What can I do? Kit came with blue contra Should I put that in or a different color spring. Thank you.

Hi you’d want to reach out to the supplier you got those items from. We don’t really do any tuning on the c3.

Wonder what kind of clutch springs he was using probably 2000rpm also I alway try to stay under 1500 on both them if I can for some reason I have a stock kymco agility125 that has a red spring in it previous owner told me he bought it new that way it takes off fine and the belt looks fine so I been running it that way but my pre bug with a 70cc polini sport kit I run a 1000rpm contor and clutch springs I like to get off the line quick if I need anymore I'll play around with the rollers to get more

I just got an Aprilia SXR 160, it barely does 100kmph, rpm doesn't go beyond 7k, scooter moves only around 4k before that it doesn't even try to move. Everything is stock. But the same engine specced Sr160 does 140kmph. Is there anything I can change to make it a bit faster?

Im thinking of getting a yellow contra, malossi one for my peugeot. It has the akrsal t6 asso mext r pipe 21 carb and the belt is splipping and the clutch is slipping so im getting a malossi fly but was thinking about getting the yellow contra, do you think it would be good and not overkill?

@@ajc5601 i dpnt know it just says 30% stiffer its their middle one. Red is stuffest then yellow and white being slighty stiffer than OEM at 5%

@@exapioz3075 Just get a white one and a yellow one and a set of rollers.. if ur making like 5hp u could run a yellow one and ajust with the rollers... i liked going yellow and stif springs on the clutch in the back.. so the pickup was at like 2000 rpm... and then ur really taking off.. with the white ur stuck at going very light rollers.. that can make it harder to ajust.. but going red is never reccomended for a normal scooter.. going yellow is more fun but ur also going to need a new belt/clutch and rollers about every year..

can some one help me please ? , i have a nitro 50 cc 4 stroke scooter/moped , and the CVT is not turning but the clutch is , and the fan is not moving what do i do ??.

Yo I’ve got a gy6 250cc bike (can see it on my channel) I’ve alr got derestricted CDI new coil and spark plugs and new nibbi carb was looking to CVT for next tuning and upgrades any ideas like race clutch or anything ? It’s new bike only 1200 miles haven’t changed the CVT belt or gear oil yet.

Also max speed is like 70-75 mph btw, seeing that some 150-200cc can get that I’m sure I can get more with a 250 gy6

Hello guys! Thank you for all the tips and great videos!!! I recently upgraded ...and want to hear your expertise on roller weights!? 2004 Derbi Atlantis Bullet et2 piaggio engine. Setup: S6MK2 sport 70cc, S6PWK21 carb, S6 intake system and reeds, Yasuni R, Malossi 2000 Variator, Green Polini springs, original crank, contra spring and belt. Still tuning...friend recommended the Athena racing long belt. I am currently with 5 gram rollers and the scooter ripps awsome! Didn’t push it too much for top speed since was around 40F and super windy...got 65 on GPS...My question is have you tuned that cylinder before, what’s the optimal rollers? I also have the white Malossi spring that came with Malossi Multivar 2000 variator. Thank you! Any coments are much appreciated !

I have like full stock yamaha booster and it has 20k mileage but i will buy some new parts for it😅

Since this video is about an Sr. It's a Morini engine. These come with an very heavy stock spring an 9r rollers. I've got the problem with the Morini engine, it's perfectly setup 70cc, yasuniR , multivar, delta clutch etc but the top speed won't go above 70khm. Ever had this problem

I have tried looking every where online even webike is difficult

I've found the belts can do 30,000 miles before they snap. So I plan to change them at 20,000 miles.

Hi,i have an Aerox,i just replace the original exhaust to an sport leovince,i have the original variator and clutch,But when i change it,i have no power first gear is after revs is good,i just put the original back and i have Full gas first gear,can YOU help me plecase! Thanks

my aerox 50cc runs a red malossi spring and never had issues with anthything like this. I drive with 5.5g rollers🤷‍♂🤷‍♂

So not knowing that I need a weight or a spring is a prob, color coding only allows for fakes (ie: spray that one green and send it?) come on and tell us what is what.. What weight? What springs?? I can put a 1500 spring in a clutch and a light roller in there (6 gram) but that is all phopaa... Same is same... One thing has everything to do with the other on gearing with cvt... I have a heavy weight scooter but the clutch is engaging too late so it shifts (3rd gear) up before the clutch engages (then back to 1'st gear) and I if I got ran over by the fool in a v8 car or truck that was in a rush, what would a contra spring mean to me? Cures for that? Ramping of the clutch with slinky springs? Weight of the sliders/rollers? A low (1000) contra spring painted blue? Let's start at the beginning... 49CC qmb. Too easy? Impossible with all the double talk out there... A battery? Battery be damned. PS: filled up after a 100 mile ride in less than 30 seconds at a cost (and consumption) of $3.30 Humm... Pull over for a hour+ to charge your battery? With electric you don't have a spare and have to stay? I'm a ole Harley fan (been across this country twice. ocean to ocean via bike) and the belt made power, on a 49cc CVT it uses it up via friction. No real rocket science there... So a 139 QMB 49cc long case with a 12 inch wheel needs what weight on the Variation? No need to warrantee it, it's real or it's not. Time to get real about it. I think 90+ MPG is WAYYYY better than a dead battery and a ensuing problem in the parking lot while I'm stuck waiting for a hour t0o get charged... But then what do I know? Wanna hang around while your transportation get's charged back up from electricity we don't even have to power homes (rolling blackouts)?? Me neither... A simple thing, roller weights versus sliders? @@Scooterswapshop Well I guess I'm asking this... I have a gron clone (vitacci) came with terrible springs so I bought 100 and 1500 springs hoping to tune it. The clutch is lightyears better but still enguages at 300 rpm (not a bad thing) but the cvt shifts way up and then settles in a low gear 10 to 15 feet from the stop sign (a dead stop). 100 clutch and matched contra blue. Can't go to 1500 on contra as the thing takes forever to shift up and it not using any torque from the motor... Running around 8k on the tach. continually but no grab on gearing making the motor a zinger at 8k rpm that won't get outta it's own way. Only 200 miles on it. Any ideas on parts to fix this? Thinking about converting to a manual flat slide carb and sliders but can't find any stock specs on this china scooter. Guess I'll have to weigh the rollers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks... Oh and the paramore was just a good tune to through in... ...nothing meant by it, just like the tune. Did he say $500 or so to fix this?. That's ridiculous when a brand new scooter is less than $2,000. No repair should cost more than 5% of the total cost of a new scooter. Period!.

Sorry that’s now how it works. That theory doesn’t work at all. So your saying if you buy a $10,000 car, no repair should cost more than $500? I’d love to know which universe this exists in… labor is labor doesn’t matter how old the vehicle is, labor rates aren’t cheaper for cheaper vehicles

@@Scooterswapshop Yep. People have to be paid for their services and expertise. That's part of life. Don't want to pay a plumber $80 an hour then you better learn how to do it yourself. Don't want a high bill at a mechanic shop, then you gotta learn to work on it yourself.

These people own a shop can’t believe anything they say here I’m self employed bike and engine building guy there trying scare you too buy shit you might not need for another year of 4 lol 😂 if in doubt take off the screws look at belt if is in bad shape buy one if looks good fuck this bs you can tell just have a look
