Why that's so self important and utterly completely the most human thing to think. That somehow the universe cares abou tus. even you yourself that you and me for that matter that we are actually important to the universe or even to mankind at large when in fact we aren't even important in our own city or local community. many people have little or overall unuseful impact on the people that they might consider as their absolute ground 0 rideordie MY PEOPLE. And we beleive this (privately usually) while the whole time we show almost no empathy for other humans (which are 99.9% identical to us basically a copy of us) but there a stranger so they're other and we bounce up against and away from the OTHER somehow forgetting that in fact WE are the other and there's 7-8 billion CLONES of us burning down our lifesuppot planet also we're on the outsdie of our spaceship, durr. =]

Time is also a MASSIVE factor (but space is time soo.. uhhhh) for exaple we've only been broadcasting radio for a few hundreds years and theorticallly has only started to reach other solar systems. 200 years out of 15 to maybe 30 BILLION years. also INTELLIGENCE is more rare then literally just walking out and jumping into the air and flying away because that has happened independtly AT LEAST 4 times just accordin to the 0.01% of species still onsphere with us atlesat 4 species has evolved flight indepentely. Dragon flyes (4 wings!) arthropods insects birds and of course mammals with bats. Ther are more species of BATS then ALL the other species of mammals combined...
