Giving artists a massive platform like DUST is such a great thing. Passion projects are what lead to inspirational stories but passion doesn't always lead to the exposure the projects deserve.

Odd that detective Lennox didn't have better security meassures, knowning he was dealing with a killer. Otherwise pretty solid miniseries and good acting.

Lennox was a detective, inspector, investigator, examiner. An intelligent, educated, civilized sort of man who believed in reason. Not a cowboy cop who believes in making results happen at gunpoint. His mistake was confronting the murder case without bringing cowboy cop firepower along as backup.

Finally!!! A film where the bad guy wins! Thank you so much first time in 40+ years.

This was amazing! Solid, engaging and well done all around. I love how the detective had everybody surviving, had it all under control, until he didn't.... Kudos all around.

It's rare that I am awestruck by anything, yet this video truly was awe inspiring. From the casting to the acting to the plot, just superior in every way.

This film hit the perfect blend of sci-fi and noir. Bravo! Author!

Nicely done! Visuals that fit the story, rather than being there to be there. Dialog that was character driven, not preachy exposition. A story that had logical twists, rather than holes you could fit a mining station in. Acting that was believable, rather than the typical 'over the top'. This was an excellent example of what Indy Sci-Fi can and should be. I'd love to see more from these guys! :)

Let just take a moment and appreciate the fact that these guys make great sci-fi videos❤️ I'm watching DUST since when it didn't have 100k subs!❤️

Once again, a great short film shows that it’s good writing, not good vfx, that makes good storytelling. The acting and directing then make good sci-fi into great sci-fi. Cheers!

This was INCREDIBLE! Not taking anything away from the superb acting and directing but it was the writing which really stood out here.

Note to self: if someone is smothering you with a plastic bag tear the bag.

For a web series, I appreciate the effort going into these series. It definitely scratches my sci-fi itch. Your content is better than some of the network stuff out there.

I keep being shocked over and over by how good these short movies from Dust are!! And this one is excellent as well! ❤❤

Best two characters in my opinion. That actor who played Bayfield reminds me of Elijah Wood. I thought it was him @ first!

I've watched dozens of Dust short films and series but I have to say, every time I hear that Aussie accent, my anticipation level goes up a notch. Great to see our local film makers holding it up to the best and producing great content. Ripper yarn. I almost expected to to see a wee small doggy with a Jedi laser between his teeth at one stage 😁

Just wow! The acting, directing, cinematography, script, dialog were all top class. Really impressive

Extremely impressive bit of work! Thank you so much.... I watch/read/even write a fair amount of science fiction, and this will stand up to anything I can recollect or imagine...please send my appreciation to the production team, and do broadcast anything else they offer. Again, thank you all for this outstanding creation, and I think we all would appreciate a bunch more! P.S. Raymond Chandler would be very proud of your work, folks.

I really liked that mini movie, believable, realistic setting/decor, good acting, and good story, you dont know until the end.

She should have told the raiders, "Welcome aboard...we've been waiting for you." then blew them all to hell.

the raiders has remotely contorlled the station, the power redirection is probably aborted by them

@@Skinflaps_Meatslapper well there isnt any scene showing who abort the operation, while i still think its cancelled by raider as the panel screen actually flash for a second when abortion, maybe thats the sight of being hacked which they didnt expect for, also another proof is that the detective has ever said that those raider didnt leave any survivor raiding the last station, it make more scenes that they want to blow them up together, this is gona be a mystery maybe only the director knows xd

"We extract neodymium from the asteroid…" An actual rare earth element! Kudos to the filmmakers for this; grounds it for me.

Hands down, best short I've seen on Dust. Congratulations!

Really well done! Nice to see sci-fi that doesn't heavily rely on the SFX. Not to say the FX weren't great... they were! Terrific character-built story.

Paper does not need a battery

This is one of the best in the DUST series. Skillfully written, produced, and presented. I love all the DUST episodes but this one is at the top of my list in terms of all round excellence.

Well after a long time of being a big fan of DUST i finally found my first "thing" i don't kind of like. Seriously it's super mild of a thing. I literally do EVERYTHING on my phone (note 9). As the video started i noticed words on the screen but I'm watching this on my phone so they were unreadable. Eventually my situation will change and I'll get another TV. So the solution to my comment is for me to just get another TV. This is my example of the only thing that's been a "thing" for as long as I've been watching DUST! You are that great regarding what you show! Super impressed! Thank you DUST! I'll try checking for a webpage to see if there might be even more to watch there!

Very well done! I was completely emerged into the drama. Great story line and development of the characters as well. 10/10 you should watch

Really fantastic stuff. Exactly what I was looking for! Great acting, story, sound, music, VFX! Really a joy to watch. I hope I can find more stuff from the same people, which will be my mission starting right now. Now stop reading if you haven't watched it yet and don't like spoilers My only gripe was that Mendoza was able to hear the shuttle flying over the section of the base she was in. It's a vacuum out there. The vibration of the shuttle undocking would have served the same purpose for the story without the scientific inaccuracy

This story is the best and most well-done I have seen on Dust. Very sharp. Bravo!

To me, this is probably the BEST written (and acting) of all the DUST series. I liked it as it was a total story... not leaving you hanging.

Wow this one was a great one. Nicely balanced. Good soundtrack. Fantastic decor and 3D modelling. Would love to see what happens next!

I think the detective die on shuttle undock, the smart kid did it? not sure, and the raider took control over the station and stop it from blowup, how? idk :P @@Z-add

I really wish they would make part 2 for these! I loved this one

I've noticed a commonality on indie Sci-Fi shorts: the filmmakers dial the mood audio up to 11. Now, background audio does most of the heavy lifting when it comes to giving the viewer an emotion like suspense or fear. It's also very necessary in Sci-Fi for immersion of the viewer into the world. But, and this is a very large but, it shouldn't drown out the dialog nor be an auditory focus for the viewer. It should tingle, not slap. (And it shouldn't cause headaches like in this film.)

I needed this 20yrs ago.

I love the detective's acting and rest of the actors also perform really really well .. i also love the story but the suspense and acting is all i love here.

Outstanding short movie, enjoyed the acting very much, congrats to all.

Excellent, first class mini-series, great acting, very efficient script, gripping, tension building story, well done and thank you!

This was well done, kudos to everyone involved, crew and cast --you all gave 100% and it shows!

My biggest fear is that someday it comes out that DUST is a daughter project of some Hollywood film studio... but until that is not proved I can’t express often enough that I have never been that fascinated by a KZread ever before! Waiting impatiently for you next artwork 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

That proximity alert with the word RAIDERS flashing wrecked my suspension of disbelief.

I enjoyed this. Very well done. Compelling, foreboding music conveying the tension and the overall atmosphere. I did not expect that finale. Great lighting and acting. Nice!

Great work! I was impressed by Chad Michael's performance, a real talent.

I love the DOOM door sound effects. Great film! Loved it.

I love Space Sci-Fi and I really enjoy most of Dust videos, however I feel that this one seem more like an episode of NCIS Saturn.

This is a tautly constructed, well acted, atmospheric film that I enjoyed very much. Thanks.

This was really good on so many levels. Acting, atmosphere, grittiness of a mining operation. Well done. But one little thing popped my immersion bubble. The sign blinking "Proximity Alert Raiders" . Having the word "Raiders" on there kind of insults the audience's intelligence.

great one. I'm totally hooked to Dust since discovering this channel. This one stretches the definition of "short" movie a bit, but it's an excellent suspense story and indeed surprising plot twist with the misunderstandings and self doubts. Great cinema, so to speak, compared to the last 20 years of Hollywood

When the only way you can do your job is by threatening everyone around you, you will eventually come up against people who are so desperate that they will do desperately stupid things. Lennox bright it on himself.

I need more dose of The Expanse, the old seasons. Just like this, great job!

I think I might be getting lost here, keep finding really good shorts on here. This one was awesome, great job building the story and hiding the killer, it's tough because your trying to build a story that hides the killer while slowly revealing very subtle information about the killer. This was a fun one to watch.

I was just wondering the same thing. I was expecting an all-out destructive ending with the timer and all. Was actually a little disappointed it didn't end with a 'bang'. Otherwise, very well written and acted. Had me guessing every step of the way. Shame the young man could see beyond the end of his nose. I thought if the Raiders had delivered a little karma on Toby it would have been perfect.

What sick bay in a spaceship would ever be lit like that? All dark with shadows?... It would be lit up like a 7-11 at 3am.....😆

Just what I thought, those narrow vertical strip lights. All areas where a bit murky. I guess the producer did it for the atmosphere......

Very nice take on an old theme. Excellent acting. I hope this series will create further opportunity for the team that made this.
