School Nurse Refused To Call 911 While Black Teen Was Having A Stroke

17-year-old D’Andre Hicks was showing obvious symptoms of a stroke during the school day when the school's nurse refused to call first responders. Dr. Rashad Richey and A.B. Burns-Tucker discuss on Indisputable. Tell us what you think in the comments below.
Read more here: atlantablackst...
"A 17-year-old Boston high school student suffered a stroke while in class but did not receive the medical assistance he needed after officials called his mother instead of 911.
The teen’s mother, who is wheelchair-bound, is furious, asking why the school nurse did not recognize the signs of his health failing when the boy complained about feeling tired and his side felt numb.
D’Andre Hicks, a junior at the Henderson Inclusion (Upper School) in Dorchester, Mass, became ill while under the school’s supervision in early May 2022."

I have been a Nurse for over 20 years the first thing she should have done was make sure he was safe from body injuries and instruct someone to call 911. This is just disgusting she needs her license revoked smh . Some people are becoming nurses for financial support no empathy or compassion for people at all.

I agree with him. We moved to Connecticut and saw difference doctors. My little one has autism and was treated like an outcast. He wasn't getting the therapeutic he needed. They called us every day to come pick him up from school, because he would cried when he was not being treated right. We saw doctors due to him constantly being sick for months. We recently found a black doctor that is now doing the necessary things to link my son to autism and therapeutic services. This doctor did an exam on my son and diagnosed him allergies and asthma. Now he's getting much better. Parents do your homework on school before enrolling your child.

Me as a parent I would have called 911 while on my way to the school, after that it’s suing time

I'm sorry, while I know a stroke is unusual in a 17 year old, but if he has stroke like symptoms call an ambulance just to be safe. I mean aneurisms and strokes are completely random

Charges should be filed. As a medic, I would be fired if I dropped the ball in this situation. It should be NO different for a school nurse OR staff member. This poor kid may have had his life changed forever by the nurse's incompetence.
