A very helpful review, thank you. I am considering buying one and would be interested to know if the table tilts both to the left and to the right, or does it just tilt one way? Thanks.

Hi. How accurate is it for drilling in metal? For example, in a square pipe 40 * 40, can you make an aligned hole at a time?

You can drill metal, would have to check the specification for the maximum drill size. How accurate depends on the drill bit and drilling speed. It can drill at an angle but the srill bit could skid on the metal surface if not centred punced first.

@@PhilipGreenwoodWoodturner I mean a perpendicular hole at a 90 degree angle. It is also very interesting how he behaves with a step drill.

Would this be suitable for drilling into the top plate of a Draper 69356 Adjustable Bench Grinder Stand? I need to drill two holes because the back holes don't align with the top plate. It is made from think cast iron.

The drill will drill metal as well as wood, it all depends on the hole size you need to drill.

@@Distorted-Vision If you use the correct speed for this type of metal and drill size I cant see why not. Look online for drilling information on Cast iron .

Hi Phil, Well done on the video review. I'm interested in this drill but my space is limited. Could you tell me the total height from the worktop to the top of the drill , the depth from the back to the front of the drill and the maximum depth that it is possible to drill through a block of wood (Spindle Travel). Hi. The hight from the bench to the top of the drill is 807mm. From front to back is 550mm. Side to side is 340mm and the drilling depth is 60mm. Hope this helps you. Phil

It looks like the DP18 is more industrial-level performance, hence the extra weight. but the DP19 has a larger capacities.
