Scenic Drive Of The Dutch Mountains, South Limburg - 🇳🇱 Netherlands [4K HDR] Driving Tour
Driving through the landscape of South-Limburg, located in the Netherlands and regarded as the hinterland and only 'mountain range' in the country. Click here ▶ to see highlights and guide.
Sorry for the sometimes disruptive audio recording. During the drive a piece of my recording device broke off and was stuck inside the recording device causing a cracking sound :(.
(From Wiki):
South Limburg is both a region as well as an area "landstreek" of the Netherlands located in the province of Limburg. The Dutch term landstreek, literally translated "land area/region", means that the area is not an administrative region but an area that displays cohesion with regard to culture and landscape. With regards to South Limburg this deals with its hilly landscape, especially in the Heuvelland region, sunken lanes, an abundance of castles, and the regional language Limburgish spoken by a significant part of the population alongside Dutch. The region also contains the highest point above sea level in mainland Netherlands, the Vaalserberg being 322.5 metres (1,058 ft) above sea level (the highest point of the entire country is in the Caribbean Netherlands' island of Saba, namely Mount Scenery being 887 metres (2,910 ft) above sea level).

As a dutch person I've never understood hanging power lines , but I'm assuming it is because you guys have mountains or earthquakes that refrain from it being underground like it is here.

@@Timotarius_ it's way cheaper to hang power lines above ground than to dig to put them underground and to dig to service them
🍎 wonderful. I love driving these small minor country roads. Such a wonderful chance to see the countryside and small villages. Such a beautiful country there. Can’t wait to visit myself someday. - H
What a trip! So much energy! Love it! Thanks so much! : )
Nice trip! So many bushes! Thanks for sharing
nice driving tour,thanks for sharing
Brings back nice memories for me after living in that area for five years. I used to ride my Harley from Landgraaf to Drielandenpunt all the time.
Ah, my backyard :D Yeah, it's considered to be a bit 'backward' but that's mostly just because people haven't visited Limburg and base themselves solely on our soft G's (pronunciation of g-sounds compared to the rest of the country with the exception of Noord-Brabant). It's a really beautiful province!
So beautiful! Lush and green, Love it!
It doesn't really show on a video, but these roads can be very steep, because they normally go straight up and down withjout zigzagging...
I have this on second screen while learning haha. Makes it way less dull.
Surely I would like to make this trip 👌🏼
Lange zit, mooie rit. I live about 80 km. Away, love riding my motorbike there. Try the Mergelland route, Signs everywhere.
Beautiful landscapes! It is sunday so early that no cars nor people in the surroundings?

It's quite rural province, so this is pretty normal even during the day
Makes me want to own a Driverless Electric vehicle. I could live inside and drive around forever through the Netherlands. Get out and camp in a pasture. Maybe even milk a cow and make whipped cream for dessert. I love the Netherlands and have had the good fortune to visit them a few times.
This used to be home
Beautiful Route!! We visit Valkenburg every year. Can you give me the Route you took? I want to drive it myself!
Can you possibly post the main towns you went through then we will connect the dots? Thanks.
Through which towns did you drive? I want to do the same tour with a bike, im not living far away

Zoa schoan oos Limburg is, det wit tog nemes! 😂
Very interesting that there are always lines for bikes, but never middle lines on the street.

Indeed, that is deliberately designed this way, because it induces the car drivers to be more alert and carefull with other roadusers. And also it brings speeds down. You can find this road design everywhere in the Netherlands. Daily practice has shown that this is one of the safest possible designs for small roads.

@@rientsdijkstra4266I brought my vehicle to rhe Netherlands last month. I'm not used to driving on roads without center markers. Our first ride home I almost sent couple of motorcyclists to a ditch. I was driving in the middle. It's not an advantage but rather a hazard.

@@-ranganakandambi4518 It is a system that have to learn to deal with. What it does is that it makes you slightly insecure, and therefore more carefull, which is good for safety. It is in daily use by millions of people and the statistics are clear: it does make the roads more safe.

This feels almost sacreligious. This type of hilly landscape in NL. No wonder we call Limburg het buitenland.
Camera 🎥 quality is very bad …😮
I was born in Soutj---Limburg Holland///Netherlands almost 59 years ago as I might add is I do gt home sick heaps...because my family live in Zuid----Kimburg Holland///Netherlands and in Belgium 2....so now I live in Down---Under....would like to make friends in fcbook from my birth----town called +++++Munstergeleen++++ as well I also plat fcbook games 2.....enjoy your weeks aged...take care ...stay safe and may the Lord bless ya and ya family and close friends in Zuid---Limburg Holland////Netherlands
There are some nice views, but does anyone live in these towns, they look quaint but there is no life. Did they knew you were coming so they hid...what time of the day is this???

It's rural and quite, absolutely. Some towns are more popular then others. I think this was around 3 or 4 pm.
Those big red cycle lanes in the countryside are so intrusive. Really ruins the look of the landscape. Makes it look as if you're in an urban area all the time.
