Scar Symmetry has a TRILOGY of albums in mind for THE SINGULARITY, with Neohumanity being the first part. The sci-fi is strong with this one, as is the melo-death prog metal, which makes for an enjoyable and intriguing listen.

LOVE this album! Edge of Sanity comparison was cool, since Roberth was vocalist on one of their albums.

This album kicks so much ass and I can't wait for the next two. I really dig the futuristic vibe and the whole concept of the album overall. Great review man.

I think this album and the next two are going to be Roberth and Lars' breakout albums. Yes, Christian was the better vocalist and yes, Holographic Universe will be nearly impossibly to top, but I feel like Roberth and Lars are finally breaking out of that shell and establish a new era for Scar Symmetry. This album was amazing, I'd even say album of the year. Can't wait to see what's next.

This album shitttttts on the Holo album for me. So much filler on that disc I didnt like. Not so on this. Per finally was free to take the band in a fully progressive direction and write masterpieces

They are a good band and I will probably like the album. But this theme has been explored from every angle possible by Fear Factory. And why are Edge of Sanity called a prog band? I have always wanted someone to explain that to me. They are just an early Gothenburg sound band with some clean vocals.

I know this post is ages old, but I have a relevant reply. Big fan of both bands and they push the same idea in different directions ff-Industrial and ss- Prog MDM. Resurrection and Dark Bodies are absolute gems, exploring futurism in an indirect way. This album is more to the point of futurism and ai. If bands like ss and ff represent the ideals and questions of futurism to the execution that they do...I would say go for it. Its a very underrated subject matter for the very real world it is coming to.

I love this album. I've been a big fan of Scar Symmetry since I first got into metal (as a matter of fact, Holographic Universe was the first metal song I had ever listened to besides maybe some heavy metal on my local classic rock station). Roberth and Lars aren't quite as good as Christian Älvestam, but they're not too far off. Dark Matter Dimensions was a great way for them to make a debut. Symmetric In Design and Unseen Empire are by no means bad records, but they were kind of disappointing. They have made one hell of a comeback with this record. Dare I say it's even better than Pitch Black Progress? It doesn't top Holographic Universe, but I'll be damned if I doesn't come close. My favorite track on Phase I would have to be Technocalyptic Cybergeddon; 10 minutes of pure awesome. It's an album only song on iTunes, but it's definitely worth it.

Maybe it's equal in quality to Holographic Universe. I'd have to listen to both more.

It's Scar Symmetry's greatest masterpiece. To bad it didn't last in their push. It's hard to keep up with such a beautiful release. They literally destroyed themselves creating this album. I think they're dead as a band now.
