This album is incredible. Best of 2023 so far

This is as good as melodic death metal gets. That's all there is to it.

The album is a masterpiece. The songs are very dense and get better with every listen. Some of the best vocal melodies to date, incredible solos, crushing riffs, catchy, brutal, progressive and beautiful. 10/10 would bang.

Masterpiece, indeed. It's everything I want in metal. Growls, Screams, cleans, melodies, beautiful solos, kicking bass, keyboards. It has it all. Album of the year.

Haven't kept up with Scar Symmetry since The Unseen Empire album. Had no idea they'd not released an album since 2014.

This whole album brings me back to holographic universe Absolute masterpiece.

Exact same, Chronoautilus is really growing on me with the sci-fi horror riffs and melodies, album of the year for me!

Along with so many other people I have a deep admiration and respect for Meshuggah and I just needed to know what Scar Symmetry sounded like. I wasn't disappointed. Wonderful band.

Holographic Universe is imo their best album. I still miss their old singer but I like the new stuff as well. Listen also to pitch black progress! Both amazing albums

Pretty good chorus indeed, not yet catchier than Chaosweaver imo.

Incredible song and incredible video of a glimpse into the future as to what is to come one day I am sure..... Is it just me or are the clean vocals low and muffled in the mix? I do not remember past albums having the cleans that low in the mix. Maybe it is just me? Only disappointing part about this track knowing how awesome and deadly the clean vocals are. I will have to listen to whole album! Other than that incredible!

Not just you. The mix so muted. Clean vocals are very low and barely audible. Makes for a very incoherent listening experience when listening to both phases one after the other. Terrible.

This album is absolute perfection for me. I haven’t stop listening through on repeat since it dropped. Absolutely phenomenal.

It didn't really catch me on the first listen. Album was too long (compared to Part 1 which was just about right in length considering there is more to come). Especially when the songs indeed felt very very dense and songs felt very samey for the most part. There are highlights though, especially all three music video tracks, which have been carefully chosen. I'm sure it's not just that I've heard them more than just once but songs like Scorched Quadrant definitely catch you on the first listen.

To people who are still saying "Scar Symmetry was better with Christian," two things: 1. Christian left the band 15 years ago; get over it. This is like a guy in his 30s still butt-hurt over not going out with the girl he liked in high school. They've had more albums with Robert and Lars than with Christian by now. 2. If you are actually a Christian fan and not just coming to troll, go listen to Solution .45: Christian's current group and also a really, really awesome band.

I know nothing about sound design so I can't tell what's the issue here, but the clean vocals are incredibly weak in almost all tracks of the album. To the point that the lyrics are completely undistinguishable. It could be the weird chorus effect on Lars' voice, because in Xenotaph the parts without chorus are much clearer (although still lacking the power I remember from Neohumanity or The Unseen Empire). It's sad because aside from that, everything else is really amazing.

Yes, the clean vocals are too low in the mix and have too many layers over them. They now just sound like a chorus, can barely make him out mostly.

The songs on this album are awesome, but the production/mixing is horrible. Everything sounds way too bass heavy and muddy. Seriously, listen to any song from Phase 1 back to back with any song from Phase 2 and you can hear a drastic difference in quality. Phase 1’s production/mixing is masterful in comparison. It just sucks because the songs on Phase 2 are great.
