In this case he's the president of the united states so he's set in a higher standard. Nobody knows the real story behind Fitz and Mellie so of course it's looked at as just another affair by a president.

The way he jumped up when she said Abby was gonna throw her under the bus baby he don't play when it comes to Olivia. She is now choosing him the way he chose her awhile back. Beautiful! It's them against the world

Kerry Washington is just impeccable in the scene. You can really see the vulnerability in Olivia it just breaks my heart! But she has finally earned him!

I think Olivia and Fitz do a lot of improvising in their acting, like her leg thrown across his. They are just so "on point" each time they are together on the screen.

I don't think she undermines him, there were times she stayed shut. he knows her, he trusts her. this isn't about one uping her man, it's about maintaining the white house, and cooler heads must prevail. they balance eachother out. #Olitz

This was EVERYTHING!! Real Olitz Gladiators remember Fitz chose Olivia in 2.20. The first episode Tony directed for the show. It was EPIC! Loved Olivia speaking the words. Beautiful sweet scene. Loved how Fitz held her and comfort her and kissed away her fears.

I'm still shocked. Fitz makes no bones about the way he feels about Olivia, but she's more subtle about it. For her to do this, and in this way in particular, this is HUGE! This is Olivia Pope we're talking about! "Yes" and now this. I'm apprehensive, but hopeful about where this is going. I loved that possessive leg she threw over him too. Like, I've claimed you, you're mine now. :)

+Evveta Charles I think we should! Olivia has sacrifice more than Mellie. What I liked about the episode that Olivia was so calm and quite and just listened to what everyone was saying. Mellie is loud and all over the place and is demanding and amped up all the time. I love Liv bringing that peace and calmness into the Whitehouse. Mellie sacrifices are selfish and Olivia sacrifices are unselfish because she always has Fitz in mind. You can say whatever about Fitz but he has never asked Mellie to sacrifice anything for him she did it for her own selfish means. Olivia do things to help Fitz and doesn't have a hidden agenda like Mellie that is one of the reasons why Fitz loves Liv. #olitzlove

I thought she was hurt, but they made nice and in like 5 seconds Abby paid her a compliment (I've learned from the best). I think going up there and basically calling her friend a 'whore' was a big pill to swallow, but she did it because she knew that was their Plan B and what Liv would do.

Joli clin d'œil à la S202. Liv manifeste ici clairement son choix. Le décor de la S5 est planté. Sentiment mitigé toutefois concernant cet épisode où il n'y a pas véritablement de dénouement des différentes situations. La route sera longue et difficile pour le couple Olitz. De plus, la soi- disant "amitié" qui s'installe entre Liv et Jack ne présage rien de bon pour Olitz connaissant les sentiments de jack pour Liv. Autrement, de belles scènes, notamment celle avec Liv et Mellie, à la fois poignante et drôle (la décoration des 111 sapins de noël de la WH, lol...), Mellie y est magistrale comme souvent...Dure scène entre Fitz et Cyrus où ce dernier nous fait de la peine en se rabaissant ainsi face à un Fitz qui l'on sait peut être parfois dur et cassant.

Anyone who thought this scene was romantic and tried to parallel this with Fitz's "watch me choose you" scene is stupid. Just compare their reactions. Fitz was more than willing to let the clock run out on his marriage because he was ready to be with Olivia publically and wouldn't bow to Mellie's demands. I believe there was some love when Olivia did this, but it was more of a love for Fitz's presidency. She values his position over her own feelings for him and she would rather see him be president and lose her personal life than to have to somewhat wrecked personal life and watch his presidency, which she sold her soul for, go down. Truth be told, this wasn't necessarily a real sacrifice. Olivia gave up some things, yes, but she will always have some hold on the Oval because, at that time, she had a hold on Fitz.

You're right because later she let out her dad so that he could bring out some information on the committee that tried to impeach Fitz presidency. His presidency is almost over. This is his last term. She has always put her feelings aside for him for the sake of his presidency because of defiance. She will never stop feeling guilty about that.

While much of of what you said is true, Olivia did make a real sacrifice. What you’re seeing is Olivia finally letting go of a lot of misconceptions. And fear in order to fully accept Fitz’s love for her. The thought of her being seen as the President’s mistress and a gold digger was always terrifying to her. Her self image was all she thought she had but it created a barrier between her and Fritz. In this scene, Olivia is able to let go of all that and choose love. That’s no small feat.

Totally disagree with you. It was romantic. Love the intimacy between them. When she put her leg over his leg that was an intimate moment. That was a move that people that have an intimate relationship make. And that was darn romantic regardless of how you cut it.
