Genesis Alexander I love every scene they Olitz have together - when they play, make love, fight, or talking political strategy. The chemistry and power of the relationship shuts everyone down. You saw how Lizzy and David didn't say a word when Olivia and Fitz were arguing over the Princess death.

Ikr that did kinda irritate me. She called her a whore before too. I can't even say I understand why Mellie was mad cuz she encouraged the affair...so nah I don't think she should've spoken up for her. Anyone else, yes but the character of Mellie, no.

+Lady Wockeee Since the campaign, Mellie always thought Olivia was just a cheap skirt, just sex. Mellie never thought the Olivia would become the love of Fitz's life. So Mellie diminishes their relationship be calling a whore or a mistress.

In the bunker, Mellie says we're not telling the press "how you couldn't keep her hands off her during the campaign trail, how the secret service drives you to her apartment in defiance of security protocols, how when you were shot, the name you called out was Olivia or the various other ways you've degraded our marriage because that's not you cheating on me. That's not you making a mistake …" Fitz: "That's me being in love with another woman."

Which is why I couldn’t stand the fact that Mellie got to be president, something she couldn’t get without Olivia. Of course, this was how Liv ensured her how access to the “real” power but still...very the help and mammyish.

Olivia Pope/the Love of Fitz's life *understands* that Mellie will *always* be apart of his life & what affects her, affects him/them as well.

Actually she didn't stand up for Mellie. This is the fixer in Olivia always in work mode. If he didn't show up it wouldve raised questions. Remember he kicked Mellie out the white house and people the public don't know that Olivia and Fitz has reconnected and fully together here. Their marriage has always been about public appearances and reputation. What's a good look because they are the first couple of the country.

She loved him just as much as he loved her. They got a chance to see what it felt like to be with each other by hiding behind their characters.
