I think people like Scrub Daddy’s is because doing dishes isn’t fun and a lot of people are depressed, especially this day and age. So something that’s bright-colored, happy-looking and smiles back at them brightens things up a little and makes washing dishes a little more enjoyable. ☺

I've used them to clean things, like plastics, that you wouldn't want to use an sos pad. SOS pads scratch plastic. I've especially used them on dirty objects that I would not want to use a kitchen item on, nor something I would want to launder. Outdoor, dirty projects.

At first I thought I didn’t like them and they were huge for my hand. I don’t like scrub daddy on regular dishes. Regular sponge works well but on heavy duty I like how scrub daddy and are as good as the stainless steel sponge yet you’re able to clean them right up. I find the steel sponge hold food and it’s a hassle to clean.

Love these videos Tawra. When you did the last video testing Barkeeper's Friend, I meant to mention that I use it for cleaning hard water and rust stains. Our water is terrible and its the only thing that I have found that really cleans the rust. Believe me, Ive tried everything. We were going to replace our laundry sink because it was literally covered with a thick coat of brown and orange rust from the last 30 years. When we found it was impossible to find a replacement of the same size, we decided to do our best to clean it. A combination of Bar Keepers Friend powder and the liquid version, did an unbelievable job. I'm kicking myself for not taking before and after pictures, but it looked absolutely sparkling new. So for rust and hard water stains, I strongly recommend giving Bar Keepers Friend a try. It saved us about $700 for the cost of replacing the sink and redoing the plumbing to accommodate the newer sinks.

I love the scrub daddy scrubbers. I use one exclusively for scrubbing potatoes. They do disintegrate after time, but they aren't meant to last forever. Scrub Mama has a sponge on one side. The temperature of the water does make a difference too.

Thanks for the review, Tawra. I love the Scrub Daddy (and Mommy) They are easy to hold onto if you use the eye holes. I think they rinse out better than a regular sponge or scrubbie. They won't scratch nonstick pans. I store mine by putting the mouth hole over my faucet handle so it can dry out. They last quite a while. Plus, they're just darn cute!

As for Scrub Daddy sponges, I use them for household cleaning where I need tough scrubbing action but do not wish to risk scratching softer surfaces. I do not have teflon, so cannot relate to that, but I do use them on my stainless steel utensils and cookware. The eyeholes give me a bit of extra hold for my hands.

Love my Scrub Daddy's for non-stick pans, cleaning the stainless sink, bathtubs and the outside of windows. They get softer as the water gets warmer so I start off with cold and adjust the water temp. for the job of the moment. Then everything gets a hot water rinse. They are very much all purpose. I would love to just go with good old soapy steel wool but those get so mangey, or rust away and don't last very long so SD's are a good substitute.

Tawra, I recently heard you suggest to someone "the Works" for I believe bathroom grout. I would like to know, where do you purchase that? More importantly, is that what you'd suggest for a fiberglass tub that has the little non-slip bumps or ridges on the floor? I disinfect it, but it always looks dirty. It is so frustrating. I'll clean & scrub till my arm is ready to fall off, but the floor still looks just as bad! We had the tub installed brand new & it took on this appearance so quickly & that's all she wrote. I bought the scrub brushes that attach to your drill, so I am ready ---waiting for some advice here, please. Thanks! -much love from NJ, Mary

The mouth is to clean silverwear which I love. Especially for stuck on cheese etc. Less chance of cutting yourself on knives. Also don’t push down on the scrubbiest. The abrasiveness is what helps clean. When you push down, you flatten out the fibers and it won’t work as well.

The problem with the scrub daddy is as they degrade that plastic goes down the drain (I confirmed this with the company). I ignored scrub daddy for a long time, I think I saw them on shark tank, I thought they were an expensive gimmick, then I had put pasta into boiling water and it said, boil for 18-23 min, my big pregnant with twins 👯 self said “ohh I can get off my feet and relax on the couch.” 45 min later I’m awoken by smoke detectors blaring, thick black smoke in the kitchen a black dry pot with burned black to the bottom black pasta, all I could do is put the pan in the sink in HOT water, get out of the kitchen with all the fans turned on because it was a blizzard 🥶 outside to open the doors and windows that long. I just went to bed crying and fell asleep, DH was on a business trip a plane ride away for 2 more days, so after he called that evening he was like “It’s Ok, it’s fine, I’ll fix it, clean it or toss it!!” I was like “NOOOO BABE ITS OUR SUPER EXPENSIVE COOKWARE!!!” Then he told me that he ordered me a pizza that should be to the house in 20 minutes. He says boiled water in it then he used a scrub daddy and mommy, boiled water again, used both powder and liquid bar keepers, it was sparkling clean after he worked on it a few days! So we are addicted to scrub daddy sponges, keep one for kitchen use, one for bathroom, they clean up scuff marks with a swipe, I LOVE SITTING MY SCRUB MOMMY IN ICE TO USE! So I have joined the cult and replace the pack once a month, oh and use your fingers in the eyes to REALLY get into nooks and crannies!!! Don’t give up!!
