The committee organizer changed the song a day before the rendition. With minimal time the big band was not there to lend helping hand. KZ resorted to the most basic instrumentation - the guitar. The result phenomenal the 65,000 audience was nailed to their seats and clung to every melody teary-eyed.

I read that the show producers had KZ change her song selection at the last minute, because they felt that the audience (who are the voters) would not have known her first choice. She flew in her guitarist, and they only had 1 rehearsal. Her first performance on the show "Rolling in the Deep" won that episode, and her arrangement was unique and surprising. That's one to watch whether or not they let you react to it. Also see the heart warming short Y.Tube video filmed the day of that performance - "KZ Tandingan meets Jessie J", where she tells of how Jessie J inspired her, and how her range was limited by past polyps issues. The Hua Chenyu song most start with on that competition is "Nunchucks", which is his arrangement of a rap song. "Fake Monk", which you reacted to was also a cover.

Her voice and her emotion she put to the song is crazy.. it made me tears tho🥺🥺

The sound man who control her microphone was also the guitarist Makoy Portado using his foot on the control, thats why he kept on moving his foot while playing the guitar.

That is a singing competition show where only the greats in china can compete and also the greats in other parts of the world can join by invitation......actually philippines offered 15 contenders but they only chose KZ....she was such a sweet darling there though she lost badly....the public loved her that she kept coming back to perform after she lost.

Have you ever watched her very first audition in a singing contest? You could hear her Natural voice...and realize how could she actually change the song and make it her own. She even confess how she managed to change her voice into what you are hearing now...On making a way to sing after a throat problem, and discover she could use that style. The thing with her is she is that she is really gifted...and embraces that gift.

It's a competition where professional singers take part. The mechanics are really very different from other talent shows. One is voted off when he/she gets the lowest votes for a certain period of time. I watched this season because of KZ and Jessie J. But I noticed when someone is eliminated someone else is added to the roster. Quite different rules.

HuaHua loved this performance by KZ. He said it was his favorite of all performances so far. For Hua Chenyu reactions.. His concert performances are normally safer to react to. I would love to see another Hua Chenyu reaction from you. 7 Personalities would be great it is one of his newest songs and it is also his own composition. The version from the New years gala is normally safe to react too.

Hua and KZ developed a nice friendship during the show that even steered fans to belueved there was something going on Hehe. But no tjey were just friends who supported each other specially Hua to KZ since she was the foreigner. In this performance He said to Jessie J that it was the best he had seen during his time in the show at the moment.

This is very, very good. A strong performance...The song is remarkable too. I think your analysis is spot on. About that show The Singer- there have been some guest performers besides Jessie J. From Europe for example Kristian Kostov and Polina Gagarina, both worth looking at.

I originally started watching Singer because Jessie J was on it. I ended up watching every performance on every episode from all artists. Jessie J went on to win the competition but this performance from KZ was one of my favorites. Jessie J sang a great version of Purple Rain on this show although all of her performances were fantastic and showed her background in theater. At the end Jessie J, KZ and Coco Lee did a version of Bang Bang which was great too. Loved your reaction to this.

This Singer show was the place where I discovered KZ 😭 I'm a JJ, Mori Fan , and now KZ.And In this performance, I was able to see how perfect(literally perfect) kz's tone.

Great vocal coach..i learned a lot to expressed and accurate analyzed.

The show "The Singer" as far as i know is a competition among pre-selected singers around the world(e.g. Jessie J, etc.). The studio audience votes/ranks it's singer preference after each performance. The singer who gets the least votes is elimanated. I observe that there is also the introductiom of a new challenger after each episode(?). The winmer of the Singer 2018 was Jessie J.

Hi, if you are going to do more Hua Chenyu… why not try the etheral Giant Deer, 2017 concert version or maybe even the official audio. Beautiful lyrics so eng subs is nice, but this is a song with no language barriers whatsoever.

The whole package of this performance deserves the artistry label. From the arrangement, staging, instrumentations and of course KZ's rendition of vulnerability and lamentation. The la la la of the old days and the oh oh ohs of the current generation do not resonate much on me.

Simply love KZ!! She is soooo awsome...so versatile, artistic and original full of emotions and heart when she sings!!! Love her personality too from what I have seen from interviews!! "I am a Singer" (the show) is :" A competition open to well-known professional singers from the music industry across worldwide, and featured a rotating cast of singers performing each week, usually with seven singers, who performed in front of a 500-member audience. The votes cast from the audience were the sole determinant for the results and one singer who received the fewest votes is eliminated while a new singer substituted in place of that singer, featuring a constantly changinng lineup of artist throughout the series." On the singer each artist is only alllowed to sing two of their own songs. The others have to be covers rearranged by them. Thdy get one week to do that. Another show that Hua Chenyu is on called "The Next" they only get 24hrs. Hua Chenyu is a genius at rearranging songs. Most episodes you can get English Subtitles for. I highly recommend Hua Chenyu's rearrangement of "Nanping Evening Bell". I would listen to the original version of the song first then see how he rearranged it. Just stunning. Btw he had to make it as a duet and in 24hrs.

All the singers in this show are successful professional singers. The voting is done by the audience on-line. Hua Chenyu thought this song was the best in the competition. He became a huge fan and good friend of KZ. It is worth watching full episodes of the Singer 2018. A wonderful group of artists.

Hi Christi... Can I request Hua Chenyu reactions. Trying to think which one of his songs that will fit a vocal coach. He is so versatile... So I will suggest 2 song: ‘Qi Tian’ my daughter is a fan after hearing this. And ‘Flammable and Explosive’ and my son is a fan after hearing this. Both are in Singer 2018. Qi Tian is his original while Flammable is a cover. For his newest songs... it would be ‘New World’ or ‘I really want to love this world’. The later is a song about depression and hope from personal experience. I will put the link on the reply comment so it won’t get removed. Since this song is from his concert, this have the best chance of not getting blocked.

This singer 2018 is a singing competitions between the best of china and 2 singers from the other country ..there are round that kz sings rolling in the deep that they defeat jessie j and others singers on that round so you must watch and react to it and i also remind you that kz use auto tune only in her intro of rolling in the deep and the rest is her real voice

Hua Chenyu also has a cover of this song and it's also great.
