He is highly-overrated. The NBA tries so hard to make stars they force it upon the fans by hyping so many undeserving players. Beal scored a lot of points on a trash Washington team where he could take all the shots. Most NBA dudes could do that if you put them on a trash team and tell them they have a green light to shoot. He is a slightly-above average scorer..that’s it…and it is never consistent.

I think Monica was missing his point and then made his point for him. Lol. She said he has the right to leave, if he's not happy he can leave. That's the point! He wasn't happy because he was too worried about what other people were saying! He was in a place where he was winning championships, finals MVPs and didn't have to be the leader. Honestly the Beal trade was the cherry on top. The Durant trade already ripped away all the depth and left them with a big two and a bunch of bums. Fundamentally the issue is that when KD builds a superteam he always just tries to pair himself with buckets rather than guys who would complement his skill set. To draw a parallel with the Wolves and Ant, KD needs a Gobert way more than a Beal or even a Booker (not saying Booker is worse than Gobert - just that Gobert would be a way better fit)
Bradley Beal had 9 points with a +/- of -12. Can't really blame KD nor Book for this game. Is the Big 3 Era really over? now she's right when she said that the Suns have 3 legit scorers (Beal is that when healthy) but no defense. You're not winning a playoff series much less a ring when your Big 3 is all offense.

Also, they have the 6th man of the year in Reid plus two solid role players in Anderson and Alexander-Walker. The Suns have a big 3, that’s not a super team.

@@jayplunksif the definition of superteam is an all-star / super max trio, then, yes it is. The Wolves are paying their top three almost as much next year as the Suns big three. Difference is they complement each other by having different skill sets rather than being the same three guys. The fact that you don’t rate (presumably) KAT and/or Gobert is the only defining difference in why one is a superteam (despite being swept) and the other isn’t.

First off he said he averaged 38 ppg ON THE PHOENIX SUNS COURT to close them out. He had 36 in game 3 and 40 in game 4. Should have been 41 in game 4 cuz Beal slapped in the head when he dunked on him and KD that wasn’t called.

Some people despite their talent level are great role players. Building a team around someone demands that that person is a floor general, an effective leader.
He's like 36 and has played well considering his age and the amount of minutes he logged all year. Booker and Beal were worse. But at the end of the day, he's just not good enough. I don't know if he was ever good enough to lead a team to a ring when he was younger, but post a serious injury that robbed him of his explosiveness and now in his mid-30s, he certainly can't do it now.

KD is the biggest fraud and most overrated player in NBA history, only 1 mvp, and 0 legit rings when he’s the most help out any big name player in NBA history. The guy just can’t win anything without a 73 win super team. The guys legacy is nothing but choking, being a bus rider and taking the easy way to win 2 tainted on a super team that would’ve won those rings without him

Beal was never great. There are star players and good players that play amongst sorry players. Beal was a good player that played amongst sorry players. He’s not a starter option on an actual good team. Who are you putting Beal over on the Celtics’ starting lineup or on Denver’s starting lineup? He barely would make the cut on the Lakers or GSW’s starting lineup. Trae Young is trash too along with Lavine, etc. I think people quickly forgot that Aaron Gordon ran his own team too.

I'm so sick of this "Autonomy" or "Freedom to move" argument! This is about making "SMART" decisions as opposed to making emotional & nonsensical choices just because 'YOU CAN'! Not at all. People forget basketball is a 5 on 5 sport, so EVERYONE has to contribute which also includes bench players. KD dropped 33 on 70% which is crazy to think about, but also shows he went all out. Besides Booker no one else had over 10 points which again refers to my comment that everyone has to contribute. The Wolves were the better team THIS SEASON because they played great all season long especially their defense. Basically trying to say when it comes to sweeps context matters and this isn’t something you can blame KD for.

They just assume if you yelling or motivating somebody that you’re gonna automatically shoot better or play better . They had no team chemistry all year . They barely played together the fact they even got here was a miracle in itself .

They’re not blaming KD for effort. They’re blaming KD because the fact his roster is full of bums is self inflicted. They have no depth because they sent it away in the process of the trade for Durant (and Beal). Effectively his forcing a move to Phoenix made Phoenix not the team he wanted to even move to cos all its depth was eviscerated to trade for him

This is a prime example for the fact that the big 3 era of nba basketball is basically gone and is going back to dynamic duos and a well rounded team with your two best players

For me guys like KD are a cautionary tale about switching teams. Its not so easy as to just place yourself on whatever team you want when you're making a max contract, whatever team you go to has to accommodate that so you end up with these barebones depth, 3 star teams that always have high expectations and fail miserably.
